Eve Online loads in the taskbar, but stays minimized. Every time you click on it, the icon goes into the upper left hand corner of the monitor, but does absolutely nothing. The game does not go to the log in screen, the intro, or anything of the sort. I just installed it.
I'm running:
P4 - 3.2 GHZ
1 GIG RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
I have the latest drivers, and the latest DirectX.

Tried pressing alt + enter while it's icon is in the upper left hand corner?

I fixed it by downgrading my ATI graphics drivers, but this is a terrible solution, now Sins of a Solar Empire will not work for me. There has to be a better way.

I've had this same issue a few times in the recent past, though admittedly not from a clean install.
Clearing my cache solved it for me.

I have had the same problem the past few days. Alt enter, and alt enter again goes back to the standard screen, but what a pain to do that everytime.

i had this issue the other night.
What I did was:
1) uninstall eve
2) remove ALL eve related folders from pc
3) Reinstall eve.
This isnt what i wanted to do, but its the only thing i could do to get it to work again.

I get that problem all the time. What it is for me is that somehow, my video settings are getting reset. Alt-Enter to fullscreen works to get me in the game, then I set my video back up and go back to windowed mode and it's fine for a while.
I think it has to do with launching EVE while running another fullscreen program in a differant video mode. sometimes while playing BF2 or Civ4, I'll get the "skill training completed" nag from EVeMon, and I'll jump out to start a new skill...because you know, you can't have any skill lag time, that's inefficient!!
