I just came back from my holiday where i read the complete Eve chronicles. I read all about every race and was wondering where the Jove are in the game.
Are there plans to make them playeable or are they just to advanced to play with?
Are there missions where we "meet" the Jove or are they just a race to explain where some technology come from like the pod?

The Jove are vaporware. What you've seen in the chronicles is about it.

If you use your in-game map you can highlight Jove space to see where it is. It is in the upper right corner of the map when you choose flatten map.
Jove space can only be reached via GM intervention. There are no jump gates that connect to it, so there is no way to get a ship there. Those areas are used for special events such as the alliance tournement. Originally by: Danui

There might be missions that include references to the Jove in their flavor text, but they have no practical difference from any other missions. For now, the Jove are most here for flavor text.

The Jove occupy, on the flattened in-game map, the two regions between roughly Venal, Tribute, Geminate, and the drone regions. If you suck at geography, search for the "Polaris" system, its at the southern tip of their space.
In the early history of EVE, there were a few Jove-related events, such as when one of their representatives went rogue and had to be killed (you can still find his body parts for sale in contracts occasionally). These days, there's not much, save for encounters on the test server run by ISD/GMs/Devs, you might see some of their influence in T3 if it ever comes out, but beyond that don't expect much.

the jove are all around us. watching. waiting for something
have you ever seen that ball of light fly past in space? its a jove ship. they move with incredible speed and agility.
have you ever wondered what a jove looks like? TomB is rumored to be jove.
