I have 2 accounts. Main is a miner, alt is a hauler. I'm quite lazy, and can't be bothered, docking my hauler every 15 minutes or so.
Would it be wise to use a freighter to haul?
I'm still low SP, so advice needed, thanks!

Freighters can't load/unload in open space, with a few exceptions (near a POS, or out of a freighter wreck). You can't use a freighter the way you plan to use it.

Freighters can't pick up jettison cans from space.

Oh, is that so, didn't know that.
So to jetmine, my best option is industrial ships?

Industrials ? Yup, the only option. There's T2 industrials too (transport ships), but they're not significantly better for jetcan hauling purposes. Well, at least those you don't feel sad cargo-rigging, heh.

How about a Rorqual? has a standard 40k cargo hold plus a 10k large corp hangar, it can even compress the ore... Some nice benefits, can deploy 5 heavy fighters and gets a 20% bonus to damage per level (essentially the drone damage output of a Dominix), and has lots of armor and shields... Can't operate in Hig-sec, don't know about Low-sec, I'm sure it can be used in zero-zero.

The best compromise between short skill training and large cargo bay is the mammoth.
Use GSCs (giant secure containers) in it as well as T2 cargo expanders to get the best out of it. Goes for any industrial/transport.

This might help. Lists cargo hold capacities.

My personal favourites are Bestower (13k-ish cargo space on fresh alt within hours from creation is possible, and that without rigs, on a relatively cheap, disposable fit) and the Bustard (hell of a tank, not quite like a Drake but damned close... and ample enough cargo space... for highly specced chars only ; plus, as a bonus, you get to fly a Charon too, if you want, the largest freighter around).

being new and somewhat inexperienced in the game, how would i go about making that bestower pilot? i mean, what paths when i make a new amarr (it's amarr right) pilot to get into that bestower as fast as possible?

Amarr Industrial needs a non-trial account with L3 spaceship command and L3 amarr frigate. All Amarr "Military" career choices (Soldier or Spec Ops) have that covered from the get-go. You can climb in a Bestower, just buy and train L1 amarr industrial, half hour training time or so.
Expanded Cargohold II needs L2 hull upgrades. Soldier gets L4 hull upgrades, so he's ok to go at 13+k m^3 within minutes. Spec ops gets only L1 hull upgrades, so you need a bit of extra time (around one to two hours extra tops, depending on attributes).
You MIGHT prefer Spec Ops however, since it's also "cruiser-ready" from the get go, and has some pretty decent engineering skills (energy system op 5, for instance). Others might prefer Soldier since they want the minimum amount of time wasted, and either never train the character further (13k cargo sounds good enough to me)... or because they can train Amarr Industrial to a higher level slightly faster without additional learning done first (getting it to L3 is not a bad idea).
