dear CCP,
why is the 150mm railgun so freeking hard to fit? The few ships that do have the powergrid to fit these really struggle due to the insane CPU use.
just to show what I mean:
350mm > 425mm = 14% more cpu 200mm > 250mm = 12% more cpu 125mm > 150mm = 40% more cpu!!!!

only ship that needs 150's is the harpy, and no one flies harpies anymore.
so basically, fit 125's. or don't fit small rails at all, because they suck.
there is no situation where blasters are not better on a small ship. except on the harpy, but like i said, no one flies them.

Harpies don't need 150's.
Fit 75's and watch them toast any interceptor that dares get into range, as well as a lot of other frigs. Just watch for those pesky bombers, amarr af's and good ishkur pilots. And cruisers. And battlecruisers. And etc etc...

You must be pretty delusional to say this.
Rails are useful in many frig setups that want to stay out of webbing range. If you think that only Harpy can do that, you are wrong.

Small rails are pretty good on Cormorant sniping set-ups too. _____________________________

Nothing wrong with fitting rails to Gallente/Caldari Intis either.
You are there to tackle safely not kill.

i have to agree with the others rails are very good on frigs. In fact they are a must on ships like the Enyo that don't have the speed to effectively get in range.
The question still remains though, how come 150's use soooo much CPU? No other weapon type has this huge cpu jump. Makes me think it's some kind of typo!!
Seriously try and fit some 150 II's to any gunship frig and get back to me..

The Enyo can easily fit 4 150 mm II, and it's a pretty good anti-interceptor ship that way with its tracking bonus.

Taranis can easily fit 150 II also but you usually see blasters on a taranis. But 150 II will fit with little to no problems.

Harpy:
Magstab II Tracking Enhancer II
1mn MWD II Tracking Computer II 2x Sensor Booster II
4x 150mm Railgun II (empty high)
Yeah, you have to leave the last high slot empty, but light missiles have even more absurdly high fitting requirements than the 150mm IIs, and rocket launchers are completely useless. You don't really miss the extra missile launcher when sniping at 100km, so it's not that much of a problem to leave it empty.

75km Range, 1000mm Scan Res. Used it many times in larger gate engagements (20-30ish) Pops intys and other frigs easily.
Train Weapon Upgrades and electronics. 150s are not hard to fit.
[Harpy, Mini-Sniper] Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

150mm Railgun II, Spike S 150mm Railgun II, Spike S 150mm Railgun II, Spike S 150mm Railgun II, Spike S
Or a Merlin. Cheapish L1 Mission runner. Ive done L2s in it as well.
[Merlin, L1 Missions-Caldari] Micro Auxiliary Power Core I Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
1MN Afterburner II Small Shield Extender II Small Shield Extender II Small Shield Extender II
150mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge S 150mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge S 'Arbalest' Standard Missile Launcher, Sabretooth Light Missile 'Arbalest' Standard Missile Launcher, Sabretooth Light Missile
Quick and Agile
Seriously, try harder at fitting stuff.

Since I lack AWU V, I use a 1MN AB II instead of MWD II - otherwise this is pretty much a great sniper setup (you'll get through bubbles fast enough because your acceleration is still better than a MWD BS's).
