Greetings brothers and sisters of Amarr and the lessor races. Today in light of recent events concerning the CODE ARIA report I am compelled to speak of the sinful Gallente culture once again and it's contributions to our space-fairing society.
Over a year ago I spoke of THE GALLENTE GIFT in a sermon and warned others to be on guard against this threat. Today with the Code Aria incident we are once again plagued by a threat brought to us by the Gallente and their arrogant belief they can "create" artificial life where there previously was none. Gallente A.I. is a sin!
While the major empires including the Gallente universally condemned the incident the Gallente were strangely tempered in their condemnation. Was this perhaps because the gates in question were in fact created by the Gallente Federation? Perhaps.
GALLENTE REACTION TO CODE ARIA INQUIRY INCIDENT
MINMATAR DISTRUBED OVER CODE ARIA INQUIRY INCIDENT
While the Gallente and Minmatar were almost non-commited in condemnation the Amarr and the Caldari were clearly willing the speak the entire truth about these events and who was truly to blame.
CALDARI CONDEMN GALLENTE ARROGANCE IN CODE ARIA INQUIRY AFFAIR
AMARR EXPRESS ANGER AT GALLENTE OVER CODE ARIA INQUIRY AFFAIR
Clearly the fact these gates were built in the first place by the Gallente is avoided by the Gallente and Minmatar press. That has not stopped the truth from coming out however as pointed out by the honest Amarrian spokesman.
""We have not forgotten that the Gallente Federation was responsible for building the jump gates referenced in the Code Aria report. Not to mention the apparent and evidently dangerous escalation of technological advances in the Artificial Intelligence field, a few of which are documented to have potentially gone awry in the past when left irresponsibly unchecked. The Gallente Federation's continued carelessness has been instrumental in the current state of affairs, where good citizens of all four empires must be constantly vigilant against the threat of the Rogue Drone menace. Had the Gallente Federation been more forthcoming regarding their reasons for handing responsibility of the gates to CONCORD in the first place, then things today may have been very different."
Deception, lies, criminal activity, arrogance and sin. Trademarks of Gallente A.I. research. Likewise the Caldari were equally as outraged.
""The sheer arrogance of the Gallente Federation and their leading corporations has brought about the steady escalation of the rogue drone menace over the last twenty-three years. Their mishandled attempt to expand their domain, and their subsequent refusal to reveal the true nature of what happened when they sealed the gates behind them has threatened us all."
Clearly the Gallente Federation has put us all at risk. While some may've dismissed my sermon of a year ago concerning The Gallente Gift clearly it is more relevant now than ever. Brothers and sisters remember my words and do not give in to arrogance. While some would condemn Concord justifiably for their actions with the Code Aria Inquiry incident we should never forget who is really responsible.
The Gallente Federation and their arrogant pursuit of A.I.
We do not create as God does nor should we try.

So, does this statement mean that members of PIE, and other Amarr, will not be using any A.I. of any sort, be it for drones, or ships?
I see better odds of all the 0.0 alliances declaring peace, and weaving daisy chains after braiding everyones hair.

So, Archbishop, would you suggest that instead of drones we should use slaves to do our work for us? I wouldn't say the Amarr are well known for their own work ethic, seeing as their vast fields of wheat are tended to by Minmatar. Oh, but it's God's will that they do the work for you, right?
Your "Gallente Gift" sermon is baseless, racist propaganda.

I cannot agree more on this. Oh, and Archbishop as allready asked by Karanth, will you be refusing to use drones and such as they are using A.I.
A.I. is a benefit to us all in our day to day lives. A.I. provides a workforce and allows us to broaden our horizons. I suppose you will be using your argument against A.I. to enforce the use of slavery.

As usual Archbishop wants to have it all ways. He will, I am sure, continue to demonstrate his own 'work ethic' by using slave labour extensively, and I very much doubt that Amarrian paramilitaries will cease using the advanced drone technologies and drone carriers made available through Amarrian research. I also note he is quite happy to take this particular Gallente journalist's work at face value. Not that I question the work myself but I note it suits Archbishop to consider the news entirely accurate on this occasion.

As per usual, Archbishop's sermon is just a mishmash of lies, falsehoods, and what little truth he does speak is twisted so much it might as well be false anyway. A man speaking this out of sheer ignorance I might be able to forgive to some degree, but Archbishop knows that almost all of what he says is false, and that no-one outside of his pathetic corporation and their even more pathetic coat-tail allies will believe it - yet says it anyway.
Such bone-headed stupidity is, in my opinion, unforgivable. ----- CEO, Heretic Logistics Dance Commander |

Quote: So, does this statement mean that members of PIE, and other Amarr, will not be using any A.I. of any sort, be it for drones, or ships?]
The Gallente form of A.I. and its presumptive arrogance to assume it can create the equivalent of a living being in consciousness and soul is the topic here. Certainly some drones are directable by pilots and even though they may have some A.I. capability it is very limited. Much different from the Gallente disaster we've experienced.
Quote: Your "Gallente Gift" sermon is baseless, racist propaganda.
It is the truth. The Gallente Gift is well documented. Who created these rouge drones? Who created the gates? The Gallente. If the truth hurts perhaps you should reconsider your support of the corrupt devious Gallente Federation.
Quote: A.I. is a benefit to us all in our day to day lives. A.I. provides a workforce and allows us to broaden our horizons. I suppose you will be using your argument against A.I. to enforce the use of slavery.
A.I. has a limited role to play but only as directed BY MAN. You're confusing the point which is the Gallente in their arrogance have unleashed an entire society of independent thinking self-ruled rogue drones that are NOT directed by man.
Quote: He will, I am sure, continue to demonstrate his own 'work ethic' by using slave labour extensively, and I very much doubt that Amarrian paramilitaries will cease using the advanced drone technologies and drone carriers made available through Amarrian research.
Clearly some A.I. has its purpose. Look at the reason it was created in the first place. Amarr controled drone carriers are AMARR CONTROLLED and despite the A.I. present in the drone fighters they are still AMARR CONTROLLED. At the end of the day the AMARR CONTROLLED fighters return.
In the case of rogue drones however we have UNCONTROLLED DRONE A.I. wreaking havoc and destruction. Killing and maiming wherever the opportunity with NO HUMAN GUIDENCE. This attempt to make A.I. at a level equal to man, perhaps to replace man itself, is the sin I speak of.
To Summarize:
Drones controlled by man with A.I. capabilities under our control = OK
Drones not controlled by man with A.I. running rampant like those created by the Gallente = NOT OK
I hope that makes clear your understanding of my message.

I don't deny that we created them. I accept that truth, but it could have happened to any empire experimenting in drone AI. The problem I have is with your racist, incorrect assumptions about Gallente culture, and your assertion that the Amarr are somehow blessed with some overabundance of work ethic that other empires, namely the Federation, is lacking in. Your sermons show you to be simply a hypocrite in support of an equally if not exceedingly corrupt and devious Amarran Empire.

...actaully, though I'm not positive on the details, but while the project as a whole was Gallente, I belive much of the core programming was made by Amarr scientists. However (again if my memory is correct) it was Doctor Kuvakei, whom I think was a Caldari, who spearheaded the programming.

Hmm... interesting. Archbishop, do you believe that Rogue Drones have no place with the Amarr? If they are indeed a new society, do you not have the religious obligation to bring them under the wing of the True Faith? Could this not be a test from God? To be able to convert a society so alien to your beliefs would truly be worthy of praise and might go a long way to showing the true strength of your convictions. It might also knock the Gallente arrogance you seem obsessed with down a notch or two.

Hell, good question. Do you, Archbishop, consider the things sentient? Because, by proxy with the Minmatar, all you'd have to do would be to shove them in your drone bays and hope for the best, right? I hear that's how you guys roll. -------

So, because the Minmatar do not jump on the bandwaggon of Gallente bashing you accuse them of missing some kind of issue here? Typical of an Amarrian to decry the Minmatar in the public arenas at any chance they get. To me the Republic Parliament statement reads that they see the drone threat as very real, and I think even you would be hard pressed to deny that given your own Lord Qumar seems so angry about things and how unsafe your Empire is suddenly thanks to the Inner Circle.
Just because the Republic did not choose to point fingers at the Gallente over it all like children bickering in the school playground shows me that, for once, they are focusing on the actual problem at hand. Namely CONCORD breaking their own charter and putting us at risk with their secrets.
Even with that said, I will admit that the attitude of the Gallente government towards the drone threat was disapointing. They are a very real threat. Yesterday I almost lost a veteran Typhoon to a sudden swarm of them deep in Republic 'safe' space. And I think it would be hard to find a pod pilot anywhere that has not had a similar experience. So if you ask me the Republic statement was more balanced than any of them. So please don't tar us with that same brush. Because it doesn't stick.
As for AI research and all that is wrong with it like 'playing with things best left alone', I can't argue that it is dangerous either. The past has shown us this already. But really Archie, do you expect people to become Ludites or something now? Even your own race, as much as I hate to give you credit, pushed the bounderies. I am sure there were people in your past saying how dangerous and medlesome space flight was when you ventured of that dispicable rock you call a home planet. Same as when they fiddled with the ancient jumpgates and played with them to see what they did and how they worked. Come to think of it, I wish those naysayers in your past had been more forceful but I guess we can't have everything.
Anyway, the Gallente tinkered with AI, it seems it backfired and I guess thats how we now have rogue drones. You and they have more in common that you think. You tried to control something you could not once too, and that backfired in rebellion. So what lessons do you think you can teach the Gallente? ------ Mirkur Draug'Tyr :: Recruitment |

I'm not sure that Amarr enslavement of the Minmatar and a Gallente corporation developing drone A.I. are in the same league here. As I recall, at no point until after Orphyx escaped, did anyone consider the Rogue Drones to be really sentient.
And at this time, I think the Amarr would have as much luck enslaving them as CONCORD did in gathering intel on them.
Also, I have one last question: What do you expect the President to do? Declare a state of emergency, while ordering every ship and soldier to shoot at random, in hopes of killing something that might be invading? At this point, short of an invasion the likes of which the cluster has never seen, (and at the rate diplomatic conditions are deteriorating, will only be aimed inward), we couldn't dent their presence out in the far regions they inhabit. A measured response makes more sense than railing against what can't be changed.
But then, as of late, that seems to be all that comes from the Amarr and Caldari camps: wail hysterically at every little slight and offense, real or imagined. When your governments and citizens are ready to discuss things in a rational matter, I'll personally invite you over to the grown-ups table, where the adults are talking.

So, because our nation is so prosperous that the Navy can't keep up with other occupations, that means we're about to fall?
The people of the Federation do not want a hard, grueling, bloody, destructive war. The Navy, as mentioned in the article, seems to represent an age of death and fear and hatred to the younger generations. Most citizens would rather live a free and happy life working a well-paying, safe civilian job where they aren't restricted by the rules and regulations of the military.
Since war is not for everyone, especially in a society that would rather live peacefully, I am proud to be a capsuleer dedicated to the defense of my country. We Federation loyal pilots do our best to keep our people safe, so that they may live the lives they currently enjoy without the chaos, horror, and bloodshed of an open interstellar conflict of nations.
