Now I know this card isn't supported but by browsing through the forums there seem to have been people who get EVE running (thought with some visual handicaps) with them.
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a Intel 82852/82855 Graphics Controller and can't get into space with it.
Now after having fixed my AC97 sound card issue (no more errors on that one) I can't get into space without having a windows Runtime Error that crashes me to the desktop. I've gone through all the driver updates, cleaning cache, etc. But it won't run.
However... there seem to be people who do get EVE running with a graphics card like the one I have. I would like to know how you guys did that.
You'd be helping my out a lot if you can tell me how to get rid of this annoying Runtime Error that prevents me from leaving a space station.
Thanks a lot in advance.

i dabble with laptops a lot and ive not managed to get eve running with your gfx, thats not to say it cant be, i didnt expect to work and when it didnt i never tried to find out if it could, i know it will run on an ati igp but very poorly, i would think even if u did get it up and running it would run so poorly as not to be a viable option, but if im wrong, i wouldnt mind some1 telling me how to do it. Miss Pator 3 years running.
Stripped of title when they realised i was male. |

I was under the impression it wouldn't work as the intel controller doesn't have transformation & lighting...
I know I was unable to get the Intel 82865 chipset in my other pc to run eve.
Get a radeon 9800 Pro, I love mine |

Hmmm, bummer... Looks like I might have to settle for EVE not running on my laptop then
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll just have to stick to the old PC then.

Yeah, you can't put a 9800 pro in a laptop there, buddy:). I also have the Intel 82852/82855 Graphics Controller in my Gateway latop, it is a very popular chipset in laptops. I would LOVE an option where we could drop the graphics a LOT or even TURN OFF the graphics...think about that one for a minute. It is totally possible to do everything without seeing the 3D graphic representation of whats going on...and I wouldn't mind that at all if I wanna log in on my laptop when im away from my desktop (which is a 9800pro...).
Any devs reading this, a command line parameter to turn off 3D graphics or somehow lower the effects so it doesn't require T&L would be AWESOME. Thanks.

It would be really awesome if they released a version that works! If the current problems aren't fixed very soon indeed, I'm cancelling. I've had enough.

vanBuskirk?? what was the point in that?
Yes graphics settings are something missing from Eve I feel. I would definatly be nice to have it...
i'd also like to see a 'proxy' setting for those of us who sit behind them, and can't play eve cos u can't tell to what to talk to first!! :)
