here's an idea, that most likely will get locked before even 100 people read, what if all corps living in 0.0 shut down their respective empire bordering systems and denied acces to all the carebears? can you say megacyte at 50k per? just something to think about...

You cant really shut down anything 100%, and certainly not for a long time in EVE, so...

would be funny to try tho...not at home so can't login but i think there's only about 50 or so systems that bottleneck into 0.0 space. and i know there's plenty of corps to go around. to re-iterate...its only something to ponder. viva la revolution

i think the ability to sell mega and zyd and nocx at totally outlandish prices to the carebears might help influence. and again, this is only something that crossed my mind at work and i thought i might share because its hilarious to think what ccp would do. i mean they couldn't do much besides spawn ark and bist in yulai

If it could be done it would be interesting, you'd see lots of mining corps joining alliances.
But why do you make it sound like only "Carebears" use Mega and Zyd? You are ina ship, unless your a forum warrior, that required mega and zyd. Prices effecting it would effect you too. Even if you personally mined it the expenses of ships and production go where the rares go and fluctuate depending on availability. If ship prices go up then the economy responds and you'd be effected too. Not that it would necessarily be a bad thing.

bah, how would price increases affect me? i'm the one with unlimited amounts of high ends. don't forget the "empire corps" can't restrict anything. they couldn't drive prices on low ends or bpc's because that's still readily available in 0.0 bottom line is there'd be no recourse. nothing could be done to stop it besides putting jump gates from yulai into hlw, dss, yz-lql, etc. remember this was only posted to spark some intellectual conversations.

You've forgotten one important thing. Eighty percent of players live in empire if they start quitting CCP will put Ark and Bistot in Yulai to keep their money.
Or open a bunch of jump gates to 0.0.
Or bring in jump drives.
On second thought give that a try.

Awil, it is an interesting perspective. Honestly look at the prices of high - end ores now, they are cheaper then they were last July.

well us "carebears" would probably fight, and the blockades will get over runned. then "carebears" will rule the 0.0 systems while the "uber 1337 alliance ppl" will be mining in yulai for replacement of their ships....
