After what sounded like a great group of people to join up for a little "pew pew" with on the forums, I was turned away by two out of their five recruiters. On one occasion, they cited that I would not fit in well because I "typed like a roleplayer."
So I changed it up and during my first conversation with a different recruiter (I forget their name but they were super informative and had an apostrophe and an 'L' or two in there somewhere) who directed me to go ahead and talk to Nutra.
I sent Nutra an EVEmail, waited a couple days and received no response. I followed up with the recruiter who referred me to confirm that was indeed who I should be talking to prior to inviting them to chat privately. Long story short, he was on his way to bed and wanted to schedule a meeting/interview. We went ahead and scheduled it, and the guy was late. I understand, things happen, RL comes first, etc.
When he finally signs on, I invite him to a private conversation so that we can pick up where we left off. Instead of declining the invitation, he immediately blocks me with no explanation whatsoever. Needless to say no recruiters were readily available to comment. I heard about IRC in a thread from about a week ago when I saw that a 5.5m SP pilot was looking for a new home. I, having a similarly qualified pilot reasoned, "wow, if they'll take him, surely they'll take me!"
Boy was I wrong.
Make sure you turn your CAPS lock off if you want to talk to these guys. Even then I don't know if it's worth it.

Yeah same here, i've been looking for a good corp on the forums and it's tough to find good corps who aren't all talk on the forums.

I'm not IRC High Command, but I would like to extend an apology for whatever happened in this ordeal. There could have been some underlying circumstances that were not revealed, but I am not sure. In light of the corporation that I am a part of, I can ensure you that we are a bunch of mature like-minded players and since I am the person who speaks with recruits coming into Dragon's Rage, I can ensure you that you will be thoroughly interviewed by myself and a director. I cannot answer to their recruiters tactics, however...
After fighting them extensively(on my PVP character of course)in the drone regions as a part of ATLAS alliance I can say that they are honorable, and talented(they learn quickly) opponents relative to the eve universe. This has actualy caused me to have a soft spot for these blokes.
So although it is unfortunate you may have had the experiance you did, any future recruits should not base their decisions on this post alone IMO.

I'm one of the guys he first spoke to, and I've just gone back through 3 of our convo logs.
A few issues were rasied from your convos that possibly indicated a potential problem.
You talked about being "essentially Director of Intelligence", running your own corp in the Alliance and yet you have 5mil SP. Also in places you seemed a bit cagey about some things. You mentioned contact/dealing with GHSC but weren't exactly forthcoming with details about it.
You say you are a great talker, this I don't doubt but this time you talked yourself into looking suspicious, and a possible problem.
Your application was passed up the line and it was rejected by our CEO. Judging by your posting here on these forums, I now agree with that decision on the matter.
Other points
No we don't roleplay, you are free to but most of our people don't.
I don't know who blocked you, but you did have a habit of trying to convo multiple people at once, shown by the fact that a couple of our convo logs actually overlap time wise. Also if someone is busy they might not have time to talk to you.
You seemed in a rush to a couple of the guys that delt with you.
I'm not sure what you mean about the CAPS lock bit though, although most count that as shouting when typed.
Good luck in your search, but I don't think you'll find a home in IRC.

Let me see if I understand this. You are looking for a new alliance and it comes to light you have ties to GHSC and you wonder why you were rejected? You can take all that poison with you somewhere else because it is not needed here. IRC is well respected by friends and foes as being even handed, skilled, and overall not being to big of deusche bags. You are not one to talk about "tactics" being used by anybody. I would be suprised if anyone takes you in at this point. However I do not wish ill will on you so good luck in your search.

I would have to agree, we all have policies needed to be adhered to within the alliance. It's not a good thing at all to go onto a forum, and whine and get upset because you didn't get recruited. Hope you find something that suits your needs. :)

Well I've just had it confirmed from the guy that blocked him, that the 2 guys that responded to him were the same guys that kept trying to convo whilst he was involved in a fleet battle.
So any future employers beware ...
