SKINK0429 Lucky Hydra Corp SMASH Alliance	Posted - 2008.04.10 07:48:00 - [1] I shortly finish my training for cruiser 5 and have all the support skills to fly a vaga well, but I was wondering do they tank well or should I just do the routine nano setup? Im not wanting to solo roam, I guess I mainly wrk in 15-20 man gangs or smaller. Has anyone here tanked a vaga.

If you dont nano hacs, there is basically no reason to fly them over a tier 2 BC(bar eagle/antisupport hacs in a sniping fit). What you're looking for is a hurricane, it has massively more hp and dps compared to the vaga.

Some ships can be flown successfully thinking outside the box and flown unconventionally. The Vagabond does not fall in that category. It has 0 tanking bonus, and it has a speed bonus. Putting plates on kills your bonus without giving you a tank worth comparing to a Battlecruiser (Hurricane), while slowing you down to the point that most weapons will hit you, and you will be catchable by any other nano ship. Vaga lacks cap to run an effective active tank. Your main tank is in avoiding getting hit in the first place, or escaping at will. The shield extenders give you enough buffer to see if your hit and strike is working or if you need to get the hell out of the fight. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef! Culitza	Posted - 2008.04.10 15:04:00 - [21] there's no tank involved in vaga or ishtar :\| they fail at the job ... but they are more then effective with nano setups. the only way to tank a minmatarr t2 ship is SHIELD tank and with the vaga's 4 mids there's not much of a tank that you can fit in there. You can try something like 2 x LSE 1 x invuln and 1 x 10mn MWD, lows: 2 x gyro and rest only PDS or SPR ? BUT WHY ? :) nano-it ... nuff' said

Fit your lows with tank, meds tackle, hi dps and nos/neut and you are in to ruin most nano/fast/inty ships that thought you where a 'normal' nano vaga. Ignore them forum warriors and go for what the hell you feel like. Then come back on forums and laugh at the 'nerf tanked vaga' threads.
