Edited by: Slade Trillgon on 10/04/2008 17:19:39 Has anyone ran any of the missions with the TRIAD agents in Minmatar space. From the article on the charater log in screen it sounded like this new Ushra'Kahn allied corp's agents are the first of the Factional Warfare mission agents. Have people team up and run group minning ops in hostile Amarr Space. Missions running assult groups through different Amarr controlled non-empire regions.
Did anyone else read this article? Is it real? I can not believe that no one has started a thread on this topic. Or have missed something and the Joke is on me?
If you did not catch this log out of the game and read the top article on the character screen.
EDIT: I could be wrong about the name of the Corp, I was half asleep when I read it.

That is funny considering how factional warfare is such a hot topic. Should I repost in one of the other forums?

I have no idea, it reminds me of the other missions where ammar insurgents were fighting evil minmatar pirates or something.
we lost a corp mate to that becuase he thought it was factional warfare... no such luck I think he quit sadly.

It's really stupid, I tried to go back and read the news but it's disappeared, been replaced with a poo load of new news. Maybe I'm too thick to see it, but I couldn't find a way to go back further into the news.

Right after downtime it was the 1st article on the character selection screen of the EVE launcher.

I read this logging in as well. I'm waiting for people to start running these missions alot and get some general feedback before I run a few. The reason is that this looks like an intro into factional warfare and my read is that you are seriously going to screw up your Amarr faction standing if you run alot of these missions. As of now, there really isn't a good reason to destroy your empire faction standings unless your RP'ing or your trying to corner the market on Level 5 mission tags.

I think due to not being liked by the minmatar slave nation I won't be able to run these missions. |

seems like a player allaince that is going to actully give out missions and be organized and RP. I'm liking thier site, and the idea of actully having to gain standing and such, basicly they are trying to force factional warfare because CCP wont' do it.
I like the idea of player run bounties... why won't CCP just make an offical system of this ... argh. |

I vaguely remember posting an idea similiar to this a couple of years ago with my original character that was part of UK. Mine was a little different in that I merely suggested a simple agent that could convert slaves to free slaves. This is definitely a cooler thing to do though.
Also, the name of the corp is T.R.I.A.D. |

It does look like the beginnings of Factional Warfare.
I've read through all the published data, including that on their website. It appears that there is extensive use of the Contracts system as opposed to normal Agents. What I don't quite understand yet is whether this is a CCP-run alliance or a private group that is mimicing the Agent process using Contracts. There is mixed messages on that: You obviously can join the T.R.I.A.D. alliance with certain standings, yet there does seem to be ISD and CCP involvement.
All in all, it sounds like something different and maybe even fun. I figure that when Factional Warfare does erupt, I'm gonna be Pro-Gallente and Pro-Mini anyway, so I doubt I'll wind up with issues or standings I wouldn't have regardless.
I haven't done any of their missions yet, but I agree it looks very interesting. I'll be contacting then soon. Got a minor business of helping to close down our Corp/Alliance first. (Shakes fist at Mostly Harmless)

My view is that its actually a player run corp and ISD are simply reporting on it.
Either way it looks really well put together and a lot of fun, hopefully something that will expand to other regions.

Oh this looks very interesting.
Totally player run and organized.
Primarily EU time zone.
Need positive standing with Minmatar and/or Gallente Factions.
If only I did not feel obligated at this point to my non-RP Alliance. It seems that Ushra'Khan has some issues with the Alliance I am in.

I wonder if the CVA will do somthing similar so I can get isk for bringing back slaves. I also wonder if they would accept corpses or if the slaves must be alive if they decide to do such a thing. Might make it worth while to return the terrorists to their amarr masters rather than jetcan execution. |

I can see how this could be all player-run, but how would the Loyalty Store work? Some sort of internal tracking of completed Contracts to give you points which you redeem with the Alliance?
What I don't understand is where the money comes from. The Alliance does not own any stations that I see, so there is no tax base to grab from. Any Moon Mining would of course generate money, but why would the Alliance share that out when its usually a Director-level responsibility?
Ultimately, these missions need to generate similar income to normal Agents or people won't do them. And since Mission Running is pretty high up on the isk generation scale, there's gonna be a lot of isk being dished out.
I'm not negative about this project at all, just got some serious questions as to the mechanics of it all. Oh, well...CCP don't document their game. Figuring things out is part of Eve's "charm".

I see what you are talking about. The main problem with this that I see is that it primarily revolves around the RP aspects of EVE which alot if the isk grinders have no interest in to begin with. So its functionality/success will depend upon player involvement.
That being said it looks like only two individuals are going to be handing out missions (primarily in the EU time zones) so a massive influx of interested players is probably not expected at the beginning. So if this is being run out of real player pockets it will only be limited by what they are willin to provide.
The tracking of LP's will be the real issue. Since it is player run the players sort of have a proverbial noose around the participants necks as it has to do with turnin in the points. I see of no way that players can create anything tangible that can be handed over to participants in lue of computer generated LP's in a store.
A station to run out of would be nice it is located in 0.0!!!
Hopefully a reresentative will post here to clear some things up.

It's indeed player-run and has nothing to do with Factional Warfare (yet).
It's one of those things where players take control of the sandbox, like with Eve University/RedvsBlue, if it's well done, it's better than what CCP could ever make.
And I could see this work actually. It'll be (most likely) less profitable than doing lvl3/4 missions, no player can make ISK out of thin air, but players are much more interesting than npc's. -- My blog

I'll make sure DeT Resprox reads this and posts in here, he is the one who has designed the system.
I havent used it myself yet, but I think the standings and loyalty points system makes use of the eve API thing and is run in a php/mysql website for use in game (dont quote me on that!)
I think there is a lot of manual/human work to be done with the contracts, but If I understand it correctly all the missions ect are auto generated and sthe standings and loyalty points are kept track of automaticly.

It's very professionaly done, great website and fully in keeping with EVE. I dont live anywhere Ushra'Khan space but Im very tempted to have a go.
If the team that did this can do something similar for bounty hunting or smuggling we're on a winner.

Det is the best one to speak on this but I have run missions for TRIAD. It is genuine, totally player run. It is not as fast in some cases as NPC missions, i.e. if you take a mission that requires you to collect a ship or cargo you may need to wait for a TRIAD operative to create the contract. Other missions are not dependant on TRIAD to activate them in game so can be done right off the bat.
You need to register as an operative and post relevant kills on the TRIAD KB. LP are stored in the DBase and can be redeemed from the LP store as normal (bear in mind depending on time zone you may need to wait for contracts to be created but they do do this everyday).
It's a very cool setup and while it may not be as good a grind (but really, who likes to grind?) as a lvl 4 Security agent it is far more interesting and the only source of PvP missions in Eve.

Hi
The T.R.I.A.D Agency is totally player run by myself and a handful of other administrators with missions based around industrial (supply/courier/build/etc), PvP Combat(assasinations/individual tasks) and full blown campaigns.
Understandably, the requests for registrations has been BIG and i will begin to send out invites to those that have evemailed me ingame at a steady rate to meet the missions output of the database.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to fire away (into the hull of an Amarrian preferably )

Death to the Amarrians!
If this works out well, then it could well be more fun than any factional warfare. In the hands of real players the scope for variety and change is endless :)
