Edited by: Hank Showbo on 10/04/2008 21:01:19 Simple question really, leaving out of the question waranties and problems that come with having to manual fit them;
Which would be better for overclocking;
1. An out of the box overclocked 8800GT 512MB @ ú146.86...Linky
or
2. A stock 8800GT with a Thermaltake Duorb @ ú148.03
I was just trying to figure it out which would be better for overclocking, both generally the same price. I am not clumbsy, and the review explains the fitting for the VGA cooler is relatively easy.
Thanks for your time :)

Done deal. Although why on earth do you want to over clock your GPU? -------------------------------------------

What kind of RAM and CPU are you using? what mother board? if you need more FPS try going SLI but over clocking a Graphics card is going to cause a hell of a lot more problems and reduce its life span considerably especially with the money your paying.
Unless you intend to do some heavy duty video editing or rendering work, i wouldn't see the point in over clocking, just my 2 cents. if you need FPS that badly go with a top of the range card, it will save you money in the long run. -------------------------------------------

Well the cards sold as pre-overclocked have a warranty if it burns out and one that you oc yourself by putting on an aftermarket heatsink will void your warranty if you get the settings wrong or don't set the heatsink up correctly and fry your card.
Both cards will give you the same performance after tweaking the non oc card so its up to you if you want to tinker or just plug n play.
