So I was trying things out yesterday and just for the hell of it I put a Cruiser 40% speed boost AB on a Punisher...
It went faster than with a MWD I!!! Then I put an Lif booster on a Rupture... And low and behold I achieved a speed faster than with a 10MN MWD with no Capacitor hit, no Shield hit and because of Fuel Conservation @ lvl 4, using less Cap for a longer burn than a MWD.
Bug or Exploit?

No bug, no exploit, why would it be?
(AB Thrust/Ship Mass) * 1.4 * Base speed is the calculation used unless you have accel control trained, I don't know exactly how that works.
10MN AB's use more than twice the grid, so it's not good option in combat.

Works, although I'm not sure I'd call it faster, never seemed it to me, and the acceleration is a bit slower also.
Besides, look at the power grid when you do that. Not much left for anything substantial. Just a way to get the speed if you don't have MWD's trained yet.
So neither bug or exploit.

See I'm not sure. I can load my Rupture with local hull conversions and a WCS... Add to that say an LiF booster with:
Afterburner skill @ 4
Acceleration Control @ 4
Fuel Conservation @ 4
And I can fly by any blockade without much hassle & Forever. I haven't seen any Deployable Warp Field Scamblers yet, but I would presume they also disrupt MWD's... Not Bigger AB's
