At least i get the impression from the forums that most ppl will not allow the pod to escape if they can prevent it.

But you can escape with your pod, after you lost your ship against an NPC

a) npc wont podkill you b) you have at least a chance to escape in the pod
and those 2 options are quite valuable for the people that use implants

And for people that have high skill points as replacing a top clone is expensive. Not that i am complaining about that. Just adding another reason why pods are good

Because sometimes I can't scramble your pod in time and you can save your implants? -

Pods are fun, they are like easter eggs. You ***** them open and find a corpse inside. That you then put into the Corps Locker. ________________________________

Sometimes it makes more sense to let the victim hop back 15+ jumps in his egg instead of givimg him a lift out of deep space, into central space where his clone is waiting. ____________________________________________________

Ya, the isk penalty isn't anything close to the time and humility penalty sometimes. Then again, if you suspect he might have implants, shoot the bugger :)

Edited by: Varia on 20/04/2004 13:23:19 I donÆt like to pod unless thereÆs a real good reason too, I much prefer the loser to limp home in a pod especially if the victim belongs to a well known pirate corp.

i got 7mil plus skill point and i PvP in the CA.
I can tell u replacing a clone for 2mil isk repeatedly gets expensive and i have lost an implant on one occasion as well. I would rather travel 15 jumps ina pod then get pod killed.

Handy way to scout places too, if you stuck in a BS in an enemy infested system. Leave BS at safe point, eject, and scout out the gates, to check if all clear for exit. Pod warps fast, and hard to lock in time.
