I am looking to do some solo mining in low sec space in my Apoc. What would be a good setup to protect me from player and NPC pirates? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

8 minerII's and 6 Heavy drones is all you need
And a buddy with an industrial.

The reason he is asking did you buy the account is because usually by the time you have skilled up to a BS, you have an idea on how to do those things. For example, I have the skills to pilot a BS but not the support skills to use everything on the BS.
To use 8 Miner IIs and Heavy Drones would require most of the skills you would need to do solo mining earlier in a smaller ship.
That is why he asked did you buy the account.

that really depends how low you go.
down to 0.1 , heavy drones should be able to keep you alive.
tho , with the boosts to rats soon and nerf to drones i wouldnt count on them too much . in addition , missile
launching rats will chew your drones sooner or later .
in 0.0 , no drones , rats warp in you will have to
warp out .
in case of PC rats , if you are not 100% combat fit there
is no point to try and combat a full combat suited hunter.
(unless hes a ship class lower then you )
your best bet is to fit 2 warp core stabs and warp the heck
out .

I am mainly a trader, so I am not sure about everything. Thanks for the advice in yr previous post
