A new Dev Blog was posted late last night and In Testing was updated today, both dealing with the changes to the map and decentralization of the highway system. This change is partially in response to the server issues and lag that was seen Sunday evening.

Would it be possible for someone to describe this change from what they see on Chaos? FOr those of us that are at work and maybe to counter all the speculation on how this is actually been done.

Tardy as in the blog regarding highway system optimizations was posted yesterday, but the In Testing entry was posted today.
Hellmar added a new blog touching on the hardware upgrade a bit earlier today.

I just checked this out on Test, and all routes from Pator to the 3 other capitals go through Yulai, how does that help? I though they would go near Yulai then on to the areas near the other capitals. So everyone will still go to Yulai, you may avoid come traffic in the capitals though.

Hardware, lag, highways, blablabla.
Yes, someone is addressing "issues" but as usual , they're (a) late and (b) working in a by now familar style: "Err, oops, seems we didn't plan **** and now we're kinda rushed and let's try this, that and the other thing to see if it works and who cares if it doesn't and anyway, I'm off to a meeting."
It's getting tiresome.
See, we got the highway without any adequate hardware backup. Make that the Creation of Issues?. And now we're reverting back to what feels like launch day routes with a couple of extra lines on the map. The Quick Fix?. All very well plannned. Who wouldn't agree?
I'm bleeding from my ears trying to figure out how to get any-frikkin-where without doing 20 jumps. No such luck. My travel times for r&d alone have increases by 100%. So I'm spending 3 hours traveling only to be told to haul garbage? Right.
After almost a year in this game, I'm at a loss to describe how things get designed around here without resorting to sarcasm. So much for improved communication. And improved gameplay.
Off to go look for fun elsewhere.
