Greetings. I belong to a fairly new Corporation that is getting established nicely so far. I always like to look to the future and this would include that nasty place that all of us newer players know as 0.0 space. Now I love the fact that EVE has regions which could/can be taken over and controlled by Corporations/Alliances. This brings me to my question.
I was gazing at DP Mephisto's map today, very nice one indeed, and took note of who controls what as far as whats outside Empire space. At some point I and my Corp will yearn for the challenge/mining that is in 0.0. I would like to establish a rapport with someone from the forces which control the regions near Forge. By looking at the map I assume this will be Forsaken Empire and Curse Alliance?
I have read about Corps being granted access to 0.0 regions without being attacked/provoking the Corps that control them. Is this usually what is needed for safe entry and mining? I think Ive read about mining passes?
In any case at the very least I would like to get some contacts with some of the nearby "big alliances/Corps" as this will IMO be a benefit to both me and my young Corp.
All input/suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.

No, Fountain doesn't do mining passes.
I'm not sure if C4 still has openings, but they were for a limited time accepting mining corporations into their space for a tax. (I don't even know if they still control it?). ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

As a soon to be member of a new Corporation myself, I find myself looking at the map (0.0 space completely dominated by Alliances), hearing "No more Corps accepted" from just about all Alliances, and then reading the forums, where established players are trying to get new players into 0.0 space.

Contact Lion El'Johnson via EvE mail or in-game convo to ask him where you can set up your Corp for free mining.

Thanks Bosie, I figured there was a way to spend time in 0.0 space without stepping on any toes. As I said I like the player controlled space dynamic in EVE so I wanna do it diplomatically.

Don't worry about the alliances controling space, most of them fail misserably at it.
Basicly know what you need to do to survive, escape, hide, and get to know the basic scheduals the alliances try to impose on thier choke points.
I know weveral people who have made a killing mining ark out of CA space, myself included, and people who chain npcs all day inside alliance controlled territory. I know of several other people doing the same thing in other territories.
It's not as scary, or dangerous, as they make it seem, just equipe your ships right and learn how to dodge people. I persoanly have been doing it since ark was reintroduced into TQ.
And never be afread to loss a ship or clone, the riches far exceed the risk.

Edited by: Cogswell Tornicade on 20/04/2004 22:53:13 They wont give ya a pass, make your own pass establish an alliance with several other smaller corps and conduct "raids" into these systems. You start costing them money and they will be more reasonable in negotiations.Stay away from using cruisers and Battleships, play to your strengths instead deploy fast frig forces for fast strike capability. hit different systems at different time this way you can catch them napping.Send out "decoys" to draw their forces. They have more skill points and better more powerful ships doesnt mean you cant get by them though. Setup shop in the npc starbases grab factory and research slots whenever possible. Have shuttles available and you can always use the stations out there with medical so you can have your clone spawn there when need be. They will tell you cant. that they are too strong and youd be a fool to do so but they will only work with you and not against you when its in their interest to do so.

This is maybe the worst advice I've seen on these boards. Whole alliances will attack each other for months and not get any concessions out of each other. A group of frigates straight out of empire is just going to get themselves KOSed forever if they try that.
Either be diplomatic or sneak in. Going to war will just cost you ships and make you visible to them.

With the greatest respect .. there is no such thng as travelling 0.0 space safely
Thats the reason its classed as 0.0 in the first place...
And travelling in it ..... gets you no where slowly ..

Edited by: Cogswell Tornicade on 21/04/2004 00:02:23 you cant compare awhooel alliances protecting terrortory with an empire based corp utilizing their speed to infiltrate protected empire space. There is limited diplomacy available to empire corps with non empire corps.non empire space is mostly a bunch of thugs charging tolls and wasting space.its time for e,pire corps to quit kowtowing to the alliances and make their own way into non empire space. I was referring to quick stike ming operations and such not direct attacks with no purpose other than blowing up ships. I think weve had enough of that
