what i have noticed that when you have legit reason to be reimbursed then you get your ship back.
do you have any idea how many petitions ppl submit because of suicide ganks ? or when a carebear in motsu looses a another raven in a mission.
its mostly idiots who petition any loss they get and when they dont get theyr way they come crying on the forums that CCP are bad and theyr customer service is bad. ---------------------------------- Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

CCP doesn't reimburse for lag AT ALL. When I lost a ship in a trade session (no one got the ship, it just "vanished" I got it back within minutes to a petition. But loosing a ship in combat is not reimbursible. If someone/thing is shooting at you dont bother to file a petition as it wont be given back.
being shot at is "normal gameplay" and the logs will show that a) you were shot at and b) you died - how the heck would those logs inspire a GM to give the ship back?!?!
From what i understand u are a trader :P! Go and see how u can manage the lag in a big op like 200 vs 200 or more and then we'll talk about not paying back the ships lost ! ps: They realy must know where and when a sistem or a region have lag!

If you take 200 vs 200 then you made the lag... |

I think that when they have an acknowledged bug (the moon/planets bug that is causing lag spikes that is supposed to be fixed today) that they should reimburse ships lost.
Especially when the logs for the death make no sense at all when looked at logically.

Look, the way I see it is, you can have it two ways. You may find you love the one you have now.
A: Current system; yes we all know the lower customer support reps are pretty much only good for copy and paste answers that are really of no help to anyone. HOWEVER, you have the option to escalate to senior GM who "MIGHT" and I stress "MIGHT" be able to give you a desirable response. But not without waiting 3-6 weeks for a response which I think is excessive.
Unfortunately, this causes more time lost and headache for the senior GMs as they are not able to work on the more "important" stuff that they need to do as their daily work.
B: CCP like every other major MMO can outsource their customer support to a 3rd party. You will get your response in less than a day many offer online chat support WOO HOO answer in less than 15min. While this may work for the general craptastic petitions these people will in no way be able to refund, reimburse, or otherwise even know what the hell a pod is let alone what your talking about. Copy and Paste response end of the line no escalation for joo!
Unfortunately I think the problem CCP has is they only want to leave the power to refund items and deal with major issues with their senior GMs which is great for internal security and it keeps the people who know the game the best in the loop. However, these few that know whats going on are also the only ones who can work on the actual daily WORK that the company requires.
I don't know what kind of budget or hiring options CCP is working with so I can't comment on that directly what I can say is that I believe its time to find some more "QUALIFIED" employees that they can bring on to help resolve some of these massive petition queues and still be able to get done the work that CCP and the game requires of them on a daily basis.
I respect CCP is trying to make the game a great place and I have come to love what their creative minds develop. Although, customer service should not be sent to the back burner for it to happen. With the influx of new characters there should be some more room in the budget for qualified *understanding code and game mechanics* employees/devs that can be delegated to only CSR duty.
*PS* Man though its gotta suck to know you got all these skills to be a great game developer and your stuck doing CSR work instead of working on the game you love. Yes I can see how much that would suck from your perspective too but someones gotta do it

Like a vain and capricious god.
Are you implying that CCP's staff is comprised entirely of (possibly inebriated) cats?
Sir you are a genius.
To the OP, congratulations. Your stalwart refusal to use periods, coupled with your determination to create a giant run-on sentence by adding commas after question marks, has won my admiration.
The amount of lulz in this thread is doing wonders for my early morning spirits.

umm. The "normal gameplay" of a trade is stuff goes from player 1 to player 2. If there is a problem and the stuff goes "no where", then its a bug and can be fixed.
The "normal gameplay" of a fight is player 1 shoots player 2 - player 2 goes pop. That still happens even in lag - hence why they shoudn't reimburse.
Whats the difference in actions between "lag" and just staring at the screen going "OMG WTF do i do now?!?!?!" "pop".
nothing from the view of the server I expect.

wow i havent petitioned for anything for like maybe a year and a bit, i find it pointless and just get on with life wow big deal i lost a this or a that if you actually work more on getting back you ship rather than standing around twiddling your thumbs then you would have that ship back buy then
you WOW cry babies sometimes just arghhh get on my nerves
we all live through it it not like you have a very different experience to everyone else but most people just accpet that it not going to happen and get on with our busy demi god lives
no wonder there been a 100000000000% increase in suicide gankers it the forums that fuel it

I have to be on CCP's side on this one, because anytime I put in a request for an actual verifiable ship loss due to a bug they've always been as nice as they can about it. I haven't lost ships to bugs in a long time but that's just because I haven't played/have been so careful. In every game people will claim they aren't being reimbursed enough but in my experience they've generally been good about it.
