Edited by: Dyaven on 15/04/2008 04:22:26 Edited by: Dyaven on 15/04/2008 04:21:50 Sorry, this topic really has no point, it's just out of curiosity.
Any who, I was messing around organizing the stuff in my hangar and wondered what would happen if I tried to put a can inside a can. Obviously, it didn't work and I got a funny little error message saying it would cause a rip in space-time or something like that. It seems like something that could have been potentially exploitable long ago though, does anyone know if it ever was? ---- In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams |

I don't think it was...
However, if it was... it was in a very early version of beta... but i think that it was originally going to be but now there is a check to make sure you don't. ---------- Sig Begins ----------

You didn't hear this from me... but there was a bug where you and a buddy could open cargos, eject ships, and then board each other's ship and still be able to drop in cargo to your OTHER ship. Thus it led to people mining at belts and dropping ore into haulers sitting outside stations.

This was of course during the pre-beta days, when Pithecanthropi still walked the Earth.

I've heard rumours of people being able to mine directly into freighters before, but the person who claimed to be doing it does have a history of overexagguration so it's very possibly a complete lie. Still though... ...

Must have been over a year ago, but I recall there being some exploit that was eventually fixed that involved carriers and their cargo holds in some manner. Beyond that I have not heard of anything of this nature.

Ah heh... yes that was around for a while.
Fill haulers with stuff (Iteron 5s, expanded cargo holds), put them inside carriers... use the carriers as "jump freighters" :D
All the 0.0 alliances did it and we were all quite annoyed when it was taken away.

No it was a bug were you could put things in you carriers corporate hangar. Basicly place said item there if it was below 10k then place other item below 10k and so on. I spent 2 weeks trying to fend of an invasion (old time when LV was around) after RA jumped in 1-2 carriers and anchored a system full of towers + guns + a **** load of fuel. So i donŠt realy have much love for that one.

also for Trit ... you could (and possible still CAN) make ****load of PAssive Targeting systems and fill a container with them, if my memory serves me right I could fill a Iteron MK 5 with like 30 million Trit, or passive targeters that when recycled made 30 million trit.

Isn't the no cans inside of cans a database issue? Not being able to store a virtual container inside another virtual container as the information in the stored container would be lost?
