Up till today if u set 'networkAdvanced=1' in cache\prefs.ini an extra text entry box became available, where you can manually enter in server IP address etc, and so get past corporate firewalls. Since patching this no longer works, so cannot connect to server. Have uninstalled/reinstalled and repatched to b sure to b sure, and still no reappearance of 3td text box for server address IP...
HELP!!!

Edited by: Cronar on 21/04/2004 15:26:37 i have the same problem, unable to connect to 157.157.139.10 on port 26000. i downloaded the patch, installed it and loged into the game. when i was out mining the game crashed and said the node you were currently in has gone down, or something like that. when i waited a few min and tried again all i get is the login error.

Edited by: Mythrell on 21/04/2004 15:14:20 I got this same problem here, and I have my own private ADSL so there should not be any firewall issues.
Maybe the server just went down or something, if that happened after you had logged in.

I'm also having the same problem connecting, it says I'm either not connected to the net or the server is down or I have the incorrect server IP and/or port. Please fix this ASAP.

Same problem here too. didn't even have to change my prefs.ini file either to access the game. I'm on a belkin router but everything else works fine. And that router is a total git to change around. It's the same ip address and port number, but there are people in the game so obviously not everyone is having the same problem.
Please help. There's an eve-mail in my in box, I think my Learning level 5 should be completed by now. http://www.eve-radio.com/

Ok, we're having connection problems...
However, my specific problem is that, I cannot now manually enter the EVE server IP address, cause setting 'advanceNetwork=1' in cache\prefs.ini no longer makes a third text entry box visible...ok?
This means that right now, it is IMPOSSIBLE to access EVE from behind a corporate firewall like ours, and what Im asking is...specifically... How do I re-enable the third text entry box, which allows me to manually enter the EVE server IP address?

Glad to know that this isn't just me, this server is doing some real wacky stuff, sometimes it reports itself as version 1423, others times it says 1424, at one point it even reported 2200 connected users, then died *Sigh*
