Edited by: Mike Rowlings on 15/04/2008 15:30:44 Hey all,
I want to switch my subscription from CC-based to ETC however I do not where to buy them. I could (and have) googled it up or just have a look in the Timecode Bazaar forum (which I also have) but I'd like to know what you guys think.
Where is the best place to buy an ETC?

Battleclinic.com
No annoying identity theft risk, or rectal exam required to buy GTC from them.

I should add I'd favour a website that accepts Paypal payments.

Under "My Account" you should find a link with several CCP-endorsed GTC (or, like you call them, ETC) retailers.

You can buy a GTC from any of these official resellers.
When switching to GTC as a payment option, it is best to wait until your subscription expires because any remaining time will be lost, and a billing petition would need to be filed to have it restored. So, to save yourself and the GM's a little trouble, just wait until your account expires before activating the GTC. Activation is immeadiate, so it is unlikely to be a problem.

I'd recommend shattered crystal, but be warned they need to phone you the first time to prevent people using stolen credit cards with them, but the process is normally very quick, took about 15 mins the first time I did it.... |

Great tip, thanks. I actually thought that the time got added up...
<EDIT> So, do I cancel my subscription and wait until the time I have left expires before re-activating w/ GTCs? </EDIT>

The time "dissapears" because the GTCs and the CCs use separate (and for some obscure reason, not automatically synchronised) billing systems. You'd have to file a petition to have a GM check your CC billing method and manually add the remaining gametime to your GTC remaining time. To prevent that from happening, just cancel the subscription, and when you can no longer log in, just enter the GTC and it's all fine.
