ummm Drones?
Seems fine, are you having problems with anything specific?
I would drop the 1600 plate, use 4 specific mission hardners not an omni tank. Last low either add a power relay for extra capacitor, MFS or another hardner for omni tank missions (drones/mercs)
2 CCC rigs and a nano pump work well too.

Yeah, loads of Drones!
Load different ones depending on enemies, and don't forget the Sentries!
I haven't exactly tried what fits in Drone Bay, but around 15-20 drones depending on their size. Plenty of spares if you let them out to early and they take a beating. Or use different categorys; repair drones and the like to support your Domi.

drop the plate. Add a DCU2 or cap power relay if need be.
Once you have maxed out your cap skills and tank skills, you can think about dropping a LAR down to a MAR and switching to a rack of dual 250mm rails for a bit more gank.
Get to know your missions. Star out with a solid tank and as you get to know the missions you can change yoursetup for less tank and more gank. eg, Gone Beserk can be done with a single MAR2 so you can switch out the LAR2 for a magstab.

Lows (Sansha for example, does em/therm)
4x EM hardener II 1x Therm hardener II EANM II (or 2nd LAR II) LAR II
Resists for EM will be over 90%, shouldn't usually need 2nd LAR, and can't permarun it anyway without 3 CCCs. And you don't need the plate.
Meds 4x Cap Rech II 1x Omnidirectional tracking link
Add extra omnis as desired, depending on the need for tank
Highs
At least 2 drone link aug, the rest whatever
Drones
T2 meds and T1 sentries
Use a sensor booster with range script and extra drone link augs for long range sentry sniping.

Edited by: Ezekiel Sulastin on 16/04/2008 14:22:51 Another General L4 Domi:
2x Large Armor Rep 4x Mission Specific Hardeners 1x DCU II
5x Cap Recharger II
5x w/e (I usually run Dual 250s - some people use one gun and salvage gear) 1x Drone Link Augmentor
2x Cap Control Circuit 1x Aux Nano Pump
DRONZ!!!!! In this case, I tend to just prefer heavies and lights, as I intend to run the mission in a less-than-attentive fashion. By weakening the tank and increasing the gank (and using sentries), you can run missions much quicker in a domi, but it takes more of your attention :)
The tank permaruns without guns with good cap skills, and permaruns 1 LAR with the guns if you don't need all of the tank ...
Tech II gear as you can fit it. If you have lower level drone skills you may need two link augmentors - if you can use t2 lights/meds your base range is 45 km. You should train Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing to get that 3km/lvl bonus to take you to 57, then use the aug to get a range of 77 km. There are very few missions that work better with control farther than that ... ---- WTB Armor Nerf Hardener II, 10^100 isk OBO |

Ditch the plate, they aren't any use except for small ships, or pvp.
5x dual 250 rails 1x drone link aug
5x cap recharger II
2x LAR II 4x T2 hardeners for whatever or 3 and a DC II 1x cap power relay II
2x aux nano 1x ccc
permaruns everything including the rails with good skills.

My god, what over kill some of you have.
Basic:
4 hardners, 1 DCUII, 1 cap flux II, 1 LAR 3 Cap recharger II, 1 Omni Directional, 1 100mn AB 2 Drone Aug, 4 x whatever, me, I run 3 425's and a tractor beam to grab mission required loot, and to tidy the batlefield for my salvage boat. 2 CCC's & an ANP.
Advanced:
Zet4000, CR8, 8B8 ( Something like that, does cap bonus. ) implants. Swap the LAR for an ANLAR, with the Zet4000 you'll rep over 1000 hp a cycle. |

No need for a plate in missions. You want to be able to sustain a fairly steady rate of damage, so resists and repair rate are the important parts.
For PvP, plates are useful, but for missions, don't worry much about raw armor hit points. |

This topic is posted about once a week, and I'm always amazed at the idiotic setups people propose.
To the OP: start with a dual-LAR2 permatanking setup, (2x lar2, 4x mission hard, dc2, 5x cr2, ccc rigs) and then start subtracting tank as your skills and DPS increase. Experience will tell you what you need. |

I used to use in some missions:
6x CN 350mm Railgun w/ Plutonium Gist C-Type XL Booster, CN Boost Amp, 3x Hardener IIs 4x Cap Flux II, 3x GN Magstabs
3x CCC I
5x Bouncer II
Tankes a 5% turret CPU implant (which I use with my PvP Mega setup anyhow, so I already had) and a 3% CPU implant (not that expensive)
Tanks about 900dps to guristas (my personal tanking baseline) Does nearly 800dps at 40km. With Animatter and Guarde II it gets close to 900dps.
You can't tank whole rooms, but you can do missions plenty fast with controlled aggro.
Once I heard and the overheated torp ravens ganking missionrunners though I sold the kit and bought a crystal set for my Caldari alt who will soon be in a Golem. |

If your skills are poor (I.E. you lack Engineering V and some AWU) you'll frequently find that fitting Large Guns on a Dual LAR Dominix is difficult if not impossible without fitting mods. Dual 250mm Guns are better at high skills, but newer players will find the improved tracking of 250mms to be very useful. Before I started investing SP into Gunnery, I used 250mm guns to easily pop NPC destroyers. But seriously, on a starting Dominix fit, 80% of your DPS is coming from the drones. The guns are as much decoration as they are firepower on many setups.

Don't bring repair drones for missions, they're only useful for repairing gangmates.
Again, your drone loadout will change with your skills. At first, bring Sentries, Heavies and Mediums/Lights. The Sentries are for killing enemies as they approach, then swap out to other drones you can't hit rats with Sentries anymore. Later, once you can afford to drop some tank, you can start dropping Cap 2s for Omnis to really make Sentries shine.
Dominix setup for someone new to L4s:
Lowslots: 2x LAR II 4x Mission Specific Hardener II 1x DCU II/Beta CPR
Midslots: 5x Cap Recharger II
Highslots: 4-6 Guns of your choice 0-2 Drone Link Augmentors
Rigs: CCCs until it's cap stable enough for you, then fill the rest with Aux Nano Pumps.
Drone Loadout: 5x Sentry 5x Heavy 5x Medium T2 5x Light T2 50m3 of spares
This setup is definitely overtanked. You'll be glad it is when you do something like warp into a mission and immediately kill a trigger spawn.
Later, you can reduce the tank, fit omnis, fit heavier guns, and swap the Heavy Drones out for Garde II sentry drones. |

I only ever dual LAR'ed once, it wasn't worth it. Resist over rep.
If you dont have the cap support skills, or the ability to run t2 hardners, put the domi away, or run lvl3's in it.
If your really parnoid about running out of cap, just fit 5 x cap recharger II's.
Remember, you get peak recharge at around 33%, I've sat at around 33% just fine. 250s recharge is about where you need it for your LAR to perma run.
Train up sentries, the futher away you can hit a target, they less likely it will hit you from that range.
Kill frigates, cruisers, and leave BS for last in each mob you aggro.
I can one shot frigates with senties at 97km. |

Here's my setup:
low: 1x LAR II 3-4 active hardeners II 0-2 MFS II 0-1 EANM II 0-1 DCU II 1 CPR
Med: 1x AB 1x Tracking Comp II 1x Omni Tracking Link 2x CR II
High: 4x 350mm II 2x drone links
Rigs: 1x Nano pump 2x CCC
Drones: 6x med 6x heavy 6x Sentry mostly Kinetic or thermal, with exp for angels
Works like a charm for me with nearly maxed skills. I still have to find the mission where I need a 2nd LAR. If you need more repping, take out the EANM or one of the MFS and put in a MAR, take out the Tracking Comp and put in another CR II. Don't take out the Onmit Tracking link. It's magic (or close to).

It's a shame the Zet4000 uses the same slot as the CX-2. CR8 makes sense, but what's the other one ?

ive only got 3.4mil sp and have been doing lvl4's for 4 days now in my domi:
highs: 3 350mm rails 1 tractor beam 2 drone link augmentors
meds: 4 cap recharger II's 100mn AB
lows: 1600 plate DCU II LAR Amarr EANM 3 rat specific hardners
rigs: 2 CCC 1 nano aux pump
drones: 3 Wasps 5 Ogres 5 Beserkers 5 Hammerheads
havent looked into sentry drones, but will do after reading this thread, seems like they are de riguer for domi's. i do ok on lvl4's, admittedly they take a little longer than most due to my setup and skill level, only had to warp out once in a mission. i permarun the dcu and lar, and 2 active n-type hardners if necassary with cap remaining stable at 50%. as long as i keep my eye on enemy BS position and range i dont have any problems.
im sure ill get some negative response for posting this but i welcome any constructive criticism to point me in the right direction

Good setup. Good plan. Your skills and mission style will determine what and how much stuff you replace. Using the full 7low/5mid/3rig tank you should be able to tank the full spawns of every mission given by Amarr-faction agents except in rare cases when multiple damage-type rats are present. I use this setup when I need to afk the higher dps missions like the second room of the Assault (Guristas) and Pirate Invasion. (Sansha) I think you will probably swap out a CR2 for an AB2 at some point to speed things up, but the best advice for any Domi pilot is to start with the ironclad tank and then let your experience and preference dictate the changes. |

Definitely, plates are next to useless on mission ships, you wither can tank the dps, or you can't and will need to warp out. Plates for mission running are a waste of a lowslot, and, especially on a domi, of powergrid. |

Permatank (requires cap skills at 5)
High 4x Dual 250mm Railgun II 2x Drone Link Augmentor
Med 5x Cap Recharger II
Low 2x Large Armor Repairer II 3x Active Armor Hardener II (mission specific) 1x Energized Adaptive Nano II 1x Damage Control II
Rig 2x Capacitor Control Circuit 1x Auxilary Nano Pump
Drones 5ea light/med/heavy Tech 2 5x Sentry
This beast can run all the armor tank modules indef. w/ guns off. With guns on it will last ~5 minutes till dry capacitor. |

I use:
High: Tractor beam, Drone link aug, 2x salvager, 2xremote armour rep Mid: 100mn AB 2, fleeting web, 2 cap rechargers, 1 omnidirectional tracking link for drones Low: LAR2, DCU2, EANM2, 3x T2 active hardners (exp, therm, kin), 1x any-old-crap
Rigs: 2x CCC, 1x Aux nano pump
I also got an implant for 3% extra armour repair.
For drones, I mostly rely on Ogre 2 and Garde 2. With the omnilink, even my ogres can hit the annoying 30k frigate NPCs. --------------------------------------------------------------------
