Grinding roids for a year and offline leveling... ouch!
I think you got delt a bad hand when it came to joining corporations.
Figuring out what you want and then finding some people you can get along with is probably the most important thing you can do in this game.
A lot of people quit the game because they don't dare put themselves into situations that might put them to risk. The trouble with that is that they are very likely to fall into a grind. People around them lose interest in the grinder so the grinder starts to get isolated as well. Very little input and challenge comes towards the grinder and boredom sets in. The grinder becomes less and less motivated to the point they want to quit. It's a downward spiral fueled by fear to fail, an unsociable personality, not knowing what your options, a fake sense of loyalty or just plain old bad luck.
Set a goal. Break your grind any way you can. Meet some people who are more in line with your goals and personality and don't be afraid to put yourself into risky situations and by no means ever give up on your goals. Specially by someone else. Challenge yourself and don't wait for others to do it for you. If people you meet don't have a positive effect on your experience of the game ditch em. And accept the fact that this is a multiplayer game. Meaning the social part of it weighs in heavily on the game mechanics, specially in later stages. When I point to the moon don't stare a my finger! |

I've been where you are a couple of times. Its up and downs. when push comes to show, creating an corporation from ground zero can be tedious, especially if theres people lacking in expirience on various fields. Like creating alternative plans incase of wardecks, or just beeing attacked in a wormhole. I realised that focusing all of eve in one character was making it easy for me to be greifed thru wardecks and such. I made and trained a second character on my account. Just a basic pve character that could explore and join events for fun. I realised also theres alot of stuff happening in the universe of eve. Just look at eve radio, incursions, cosmos, market manipulations, stealing gankers stuff, ccp events, eve uni events and a more. For me nowadays its all about the incursions and pvp. I also have a private little corp that produces, mines and researches valuble stuff. But the main thing is the community bit. I personally choose to be a part of the community thru incursions and pvp, but when it comes to industrial and marketing, i keep it solo, just to be safe as can be in the hostile enviorment that eve is. |

Start spreading out...try other things. There is a metric **** ton of stuff to do in EvE. Don't bore yourself by sticking to just one aspect of it. I have been playing for 8 years now...there are still some things I have not tried. EvE is not about PvP.-á EvE is about the SANDBOX! - CCP!-á Open the door!!! |

I stopped reading here... is that it?
I've been playing 5 years and I suck at the game, seriously, I die all the time, lose ships (always followed by the pod) and I've probably got 6bil floating around if I bothered selling crap I wasn't using\actually sold the junk I'd "bought because I can turn a quick profit on it"
Taking our two cases as the only points of reference, this conclusively proves that losing ships and doing PvP makes you more isk (even after losses) than being a CB and hiding from the good fights. |

Forget undocking, has he logged on? Pretty easy to make that in station trading in a fraction of the time.
I suggest doing more google/forums research. That alone would of informed of the need for a POS in WH living.

Karintha wrote:hi community < story > Help.
Sadly it's not the community you need help from, but yourself.
In a sandbox game you set your objectives first, then act accordingly to achieve them.
See, many fine peeps here suggested you take a cheap frig and learn to pew pew. They are indeed the "community" answering you but it's a PvP community and of course for them it's obvious to suggest ships pew pew.
What you need instead is to sit down and find your objectives in yourself. It might or might not involve having to learn to ship pew pew.
Once you decided what you want to do once you "grow adult" in EvE, then eventually ask the community how to best achieve it. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

My recommendation is you stop playing EvE and find a more suitable game. 84,000 AUR ($420) spent on NeX store for Troll and Profit. |

Not to mention this kind of post is getting old, this seems to be said a lot. Yet I don't understand why losing frigs without a clue helps you get one.

I think we have one rare quasi-consensus here : EVE is probably not the right game for your play style.
I wish to pass that message minus any form of insult or bullying :p
A lot of people come to EVE hoping this will be some sort of space sim, maybe space colonization-ish game. Unfortunately, it's not a common type out there. Maybe try some risk taking? After all, if you quit, what is there to loose? Maybe you will enjoy living dangerously for a while :)

This is EVE. You are supposed to go out and explore everything, shoot everyone and steal anything that is not welded down. You first accomplish this by undocking and start acting without fear. No complaining, no whining, no rage quitting when someone drops 10 titans on your vigil.
The problem is that you have a loser attitude instead of a positive learning one. You are doomed unless you change yourself.
And you dont even log into the game. (You can't do it without avatar.)
And without playing the game you are giving ppl a lessons about how to play the game? Everybody need to play the game the way you would play it if you were playing it? or the way you want they play it? Grow up.

As for the OP: Learn to pvp, do so without having something other than your ships on the line, THEN focus on going out to WH space. If you try to do something that entails holding space, without first having a sound understanding of pvp, you will fail horribly, and will be bitter about it from losing whatever you invested. |

Having been wardec on a number of occasion, I can understand that it gets in the way of "normal" Eve enjoyment pretty quickly. I have tried loading cheap ship and fighting back, but at the end of the day, once it has gone on for awhile it seem very common that players start leaving the corp/alliance. Don't get me wrong, I like that Eve can be a scary place and I wouldn't nurf wardecs; however wardec has the same problem that losec has. Those that engauge in Wardecs (and losec) are good at what they do and specced for it. You can only loose against these dudes for so long before you run out of isk, or stop enjoying getting your ass handed to you in less than 30 secs. Personally, I would just nerf offensive DPS from the aggressor corp by 50% to balance the odds a bit. Anyway, back to OP; I would suggest that you find a nice corp alliance that would alllow you to get back to whatever in Eve that you enjoy doing. Obviously being in an NCP corp would avoid wardec and having a few ingame friends would get you some group play, incursion would get you some pick-up groups; and Fraction warfare sounds like its about to get a big re-jig in the next expansion. Finally, in your shoes, I would just enjoy what you enjoy in the game, and I would refuse to quit because some idiot is giving me a hard time. The truth of most MMOs is that corp/ guilds come and go as "leaders" move on. |
