Title pretty much explains it
Tried the following
Reinstall of 1352 client
Patched with autopatcher - NO SUCCESS
Reinstall of 1352 client
Manual pacth -NO SUCCESS
Install of 1424 client
NO SUCCESS (login screen overlaid by black box)
tried Thorvus (sp?) technique of copying the .py and .txt files around - but no success there - same result as installing the 1424 cleint - black box covering the login screen :/

Well, this is a long-shot, but you might give this a try.
right click Windows desktop - properties - settings - advanced - adapter - monitor - select adapter default or a lower display frequency than it is currently on.

no joy with that
in 99% sure the black overlying box is the terms&conditions box, for some reason it aint loading correctly
I'm outta ideas
What did they mess with :/

Friend had same problem.
I had a few messages swaped between me and CCP help but they couldn't help at all...
Eventualy I gave up and said screw it...
Do you have problems with other games? My friend had problems with CS and W3.. it wasn't his RAM or Video card...
My 'next' guess woulda been his HDD but I just got tried of screwing with it...
I wish you the best of luck in resolving this problem, and hopefuly you could even tell me how you solve it.

Same here, all I get is the Splash Screen then the Eve Client locks up.
Sigh.
I cannot put up with many more of these disastrous Patch days.
CCP's patch testing procedures are on their final warning with me and my account.
Just too orangey for crows. |

no problems with eve until this patch, and nowt wrong with anything else on the pc
everything points to something with the patch

Think i may have something here - anyone with this probelm or the splash screen vanish problem - pls lsit your graphics acard and driver version

I'm thinking they changed something connected to the way the transparency is done for the Eula, something that either specific cards or cata 4.3's dont like.

Well, i'm at a complete loss, every other game runs perfectly.
Its 1:10am - so i'm just gonna hope a resolution is found asap
1 day's subs down :( nother half day on friday :(

i have the same problem, but its not just on one machine, it is on 2 difrent machines
im also not to happy about losing all this time due to patches that dont like my pc's they were both fine running eve hours before DT

I also had the problem of eve closing right after the splash screen and I'm using a GF4 Ti4200. Not sure what exactly fixed it but this is what I did:
uninstalled eve (full uninstall not just deleting the folder)
reinstalled directx
downloaded and installed the full 1424 client
with a reboot inbetween each step.
This has worked for some people I know having the same problems and not others, so good luck!

There appear to be 2 distinct problems with players not logining in
1) Splash appears for a sec, then nothing happens
This gives the following error log file

No matter which way i get to 1424 - be it fresh reinstalls of 1424, 1352 or patching from 1352 to 1424 - i get one of these bugs

aye, as i've stated before - everything else runs perfectly
EDIT - Now it seems the downloads of 1424 full client have been taken away - maybe they're getting closer

I've posted this on the "known issues" but I'll put it here. I had the same problem and the only way I got it working was because I had a second instalation for chaos. It seems to be the CD to current build patch that's the problem because patching the chaos instalation (out of date for chaos) worked fine.
Obviously it's not going to to work for everyone, nor anyone with a current chaos build. But for those of you like me with it out of date, this will work.

You tried running in Win98 Compatability mode? I used to have no end of troubles until I tried this, been stable for months now....
