To counter a lot of theft problems arising from communal POS's there should be a linked log book for ships being moved into and out of this array.
Similar in nature to Audit Log Containers.

If they put a log on ship maint. arrays, it would probably work the same as on Audit Log containers (i.e. you cannot repackage them within 30 days of the last log entry).
Ther problem here is that you cannot unanchor a POS tower if you have any modules still anchored around the tower, and some people don't want to pop their ship array in order to take down their tower. Now Recruiting. Join "Neogen" channel for details

Good point. I would suggest that the 30 days before being able to unanchor a ship array shouldnt apply here. At least having a log would stop a lot of the hassles of trying to work out who has taken something.
Maybe a 24 hour timer tag for unanchoring would fix this problem along with a mail saying that this structure was being pulled down to ensure that everyone with Security Officer roles is informed (therefore including directors and CEO).
Generally an array will be up for more than 24 hours at a POS. There could also be an option to not save logs and therefore make the Ship Array able to be unanchored immediately.
Something needs to be done to ensure safer access and storage of assets of the corp/alliance and individuals.

No one else interested in this idea? I would have thought that the potential for reducing theft of ships would interest most people that use communal POS's. |

Unless I am mistaken (I haven't ever tried to anchor an audit log secure container), you wouldn't need to repackage something to un/anchor it. In fact, if you notice, when you unanchor the SMA right now and move it to your hangar, it is in fact unpackaged... and you can still launch & anchor it elsewhere like that.
