Im trying to run a job on a POS while my BPO is safely in my hanger in the station of the solar system the POS is in. Yet when i right click material research show useable to corp/public and personal none show up? Specifically what roles do i need to start these jobs, yes i have the remote research (scientific netowrk) skill. Any help would be appreciated.

BPO must be in a corporate hanger; you cannot do it from your personal hangar.

It is, one of two places only, an office in the same system, or the lab itself, no skills affect where it can be at all. |

Still no joy, i have all roles within the corp and i put the BPO in the station corp hanger but still cannot run any jobs on it. I just tested and took another BPO to the pos and dumped that in a lab and that i was able to run jobs on it. How can i run these jobs from the station. Any advice would be appreciated |

When you right click -> material research on the BPO, go to the select installation and set the filters to show labs in the current solar system and type of corporation. It defaults to showing labs in the blueprint's current location (every damn time... pet peeve) and won't show labs at the POS if you are in a station.

check the bpo - if you need any npc goods as part of the research they need to be in the lab itself and you need the Scientific Networking skill |

to run remote jobs from the station you need a skill called scientific networking
You have to be in the same system, your bpo has to be in a corp hanger, the pos has to be owned the same corp, (you can not use alliance slots).
The pos HAS TO BE ONLINE! The labs HAS TO BE ONLINE! You have to have the roles.
If it still does not work after you followed the steps here, then you are not following the steps.
If you can not get it to work still then you just noob and need to give up the researching gig . |

You've got no idea. You will be cursing the person that designed the interface in short order. If I recall correctly it takes a minimum of 10 mouse clicks to start an ME research job in a POS lab from the station. |

I personally would like to see the POS LAB interface changed very soon. I dont understand the reason for being able to control Lab Run Prices when only the corp can use the labs. The Corp would just be paying itself for the research!
The main reason we put a POS up in the past was to allow research to alliance members, but after finding that everyone has to research on behalf of their corps, It became soon a very annoying idea.
When I was messing with the LAB permissions, I could alow it access between 4 things, Standing, Personal Standing, Alliance usage, Corp Usage. When you have none selected it marks the Labs as Public. Why would it not be viable for someone to research at the POS if they had the Scientific Networking Skill. This was the main reason we took ours down, The labs were there to make money...But it came at a price of being too complicated.
Any thoughs anyone? Is there a way to work around this or am I right? Thanks Zeph |

Setting prices on the Labs does allow a Corp to charge it's own members - for they have to have access to a Wallet Division to do it. Keep the Wallet empty and they have to put the isk in to cover the job, which then goes to the Corps Main Wallet - this works fine. Just don't give them access to Wallet Division 1 - POS fuel costs then get covered, or at least accounted for.

Not sure I understand - all research is Corp-based. I ran a POS for you, it seemed to work fine.

You don't actually need that skill to have the BPOs in the station, but you do if you want to be in the station too then you do, otherwise you need to be within 1500m of the lab.

Well, I just wrote a long reply.. And EvE-online timed me out so it scrubbed the damn message.
Anyway. I agreed with Marcus' Way. I just wrote some comments about the annoying parts and my thougths on them, but I dont feel like taking the 20 mins again to write it over.
Thanks for the replies guys Z

Or, for those of us who use api wallet tracking software, you can simply figure out (from lab fees circling back into the corp wallet) who is using the labs most. |
