I had the same problem (see http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=749668 ). Switching back to Eve engine eve-000082 in cedega solves this problem - space background is normal again. Probably means you have to live with (possible) bugs from before the patch. |

I cant seem to find any information on how to go back to eve-engine-00082, could you give me a point in the right direction?

Open the "Eve online configuration" tool and select the "Configure Options" button. You should be able to change the engine version from there.

Me too, changing engine back fixes it. I kinda like it though, lot less lag :) I'm using latest debian unstable with fglrx drivers on an ATI Mobility radeon 9600 with NV_VAR and ARB_VBO disabled

I just tried installing today and end up with the same problem.
Space all white.
Also: Character Portraits are rendered a little whitish and the Reflections on something like the "Windshield" of the Caldari shuttle are buggy. Ship-Icons in Hangar are also not rendered and completely white.
System: * Ubuntu 8.04 * ASUS A6000 * X700 (turning off compiz when launching eve because it would flicker) |

Hmm i guess you can only switch back if you installed the game before the new version was deployed. Some developer feedback would be nice... |

I'm having a very similar problem. I just installed eve so I can't go back to any previous engines. Eve wouldn't start past the login screen until I disabled those two checkboxes in the graphics section (forget what they are called, NVO and DBO or something like that)
My specs:
Ubuntu Hardy Heron (8.04) using the restricted ati drivers I'm using a laptop: Toshiba Satellite A105-S2001 Graphics card: ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Ram: 512mb
I'm on vacation trying to get my laptop to work with eve, oh well. Back at home I'm running ubuntu 7.10 with nvidia drivers, don't have this problem on that machine, but other textures are screwed up (faces are rendered all blackish and messed up)
