I always thought part of the introduction to eve was losing your first BS to something really dumb.
Me: Ok, I have BS 3 and larger energy weapons 1, I should just throw as many tachyons and heatsinks as I can onto my new shiney apoc and go blast some rats.
*warps to belt only to get SLOWLY destroyed by 2 scrambling frigates after I effortlessly kill the 3 BS spawn there* *** Thats a Templar, the amarr fighter. Its a combat drone used by carriers. |

Thankfully, my first bs lost was because of a player
I would pity the foolish player who jumped that BS. My setup was a perfect example of 'thinking outside the box'
High: 8x tachyon beam I'1 with 8 of EVERY crystal
Mids: 1x large shield booster 1x passive kin hardener 1x passive therm hardener 1x hull repairer
Lows: 3x RCU I 2x Heatsink I 1x Small armour repairer 1x Coprocessor II (!!!!)
I was so happy I had T2 fittings(fitting?) :P
Not only that, but I was smart enough to realize that by adding mining drones to my drone bay I could increase my ISK/hour. Only fools waste their bays on combats drones.
So as I was slowly destroyed by those frigates my mining drones were happily filling my cargo with veldspar. *** Thats a Templar, the amarr fighter. Its a combat drone used by carriers. |

Oh my... quite the comedy killmail, if someone had jumped you! Was nobody online to help you out?
I was living out of an NPC station in syndicate by myself at the time. No allies, and my friends were still all hiding in empire, afraid to risk a ship out where they could be blown up.
Went out there flying a caracal, came back a few months later with a well-fit BS and a fat wallet, so worked out well in the end... other then a few humiliating victories for the local serpantis and a few persistent pirates :P

Damn thats quite ballsy, I only ventured into 0.0 when I could fly HACS and AFs (well) as I knew most pirates would be flying similar ships..
I went out there early, made a huge pile of ISK, and returned to empire to enjoy it. Now I can do just as well in empire ISK-wise, so I only go back to have a bit of pew pew or to pick on some poor serps when no one is looking. |
