Edited by: Scrutt5 on 17/04/2008 20:09:57 Has anyone ever seen this before, as you can see I was told my pod was in warp although it still had some of the ships modules attached to it. I had just lost a sniper eagle (hense the mods) but from the cap bars you can tell i'm in a pod. You can also see the pod clearly isn't in warp and my mail and char sheet icons are flashing to say i've already lost the pod.

Seems very strange to me :)

A pod has two cap stripes - that pic shows three, sorry.

You've been desynched. Other example of this are your shields, armor, and hull all sitting at zero with all modules showing full damage for an extended period of time while not being able to do anything at all except chat.
Either that or you're got some uber-hacked pod.... -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

@ quoted post - FAIL (see signature)
@ OP: I beleive that this is a sync issue. It detected you are in a pod (hence the cap changed) but the modules weren't removed. What would have been cool is to see if you had been able to still shoot. Also I'm guessing a session change was able to fix this? (jump gate or dock?) ---------- Sig Begins ----------

Maybe it's because I haven't seen my pod in so long... ...although I know that's not true, either.

So would being desynched be petitionable ? |

Petition for what? At the time of the desync your ship is already dead. |

Petition the loss of the pod hense the screenshot. I was unable to warp after this, I just sat there unable to move. |

You could try. I would say the response is going to be silence for about 3 weeks then:
Scrutt5,
We're sorry for your loss, but lag / desync isn't a reimburseable event. Our logs show that nothing happened on our server... ever. So while we could take screenshots, movies, words of enemies and allies that saw the same lag at face value, we won't because we're too drunk to really look clearly at the screen and I'm really not sure life is worth living, the boss won't make me a GM lead... and I hate iceland... but i digress...
Sorry for your loss... yadda yadda
Sincerly, GM XXXXXX

Maybe they will leave out the suicidal tendency... but have you read GM respones lately... I think they need some counseling. :-) ---------- Sig Begins ----------

Ah, gotcha. In that case I would petition, but keep in mind that they can't use your screenshot as any evidence for a reimbursement petition. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

They wont answer it. Ive had two ships go down like that. I stayed stuck in game for several minutes, no shields, armor or structure, but my mod icons were still there and the lasers / blasters / missles , etc, kept hitting my ship over and over and over again.
Both times it happened to me was trying to get through a gate under fire, told change in progress (or whatever the message is) several times.
The only two times ive tried to petition a ship loss was in those circumstances and they were both turned down. |
