Time and time again, innocent people have fallen victim to a sneak attack they should have seen. Massive battles that should have been epic have been loseri-fied by this terrible thing.
The culprit? Lag.
Lag was implemented as part of the game by CCP, most likely to simulate the time it takes a person to process thoughts into actions. This is all fine and dandy, and very realistic (Good job CCP on that :D ). However, it does conflict with a few things.
1) Since players are human, the time it takes for us to move the mouse and do things already fulfills the need for a time-slower. Therefore, having lag as a game mechanic only halves our effective reflexes.
2) This problem becomes more apparent when in large groups of people. For some reason, CCP decided to increase the amount of lag when in a larger group of people. Perhaps this represents being distracted in a crowd. However, we have already determined that no lag is needed in order to recreate real life.
3) In wartimes, this becomes terrible. Trying to get a fleet of dreadnaughts and carriers through one system is like trying to fit a hippo-sized sack of jello through a stripper-sized knothole. Nothing but problems stem from this game mechanic.
4) People with poor computer systems seem to suffer even more, as the slow in information confuses their computers, causing a slow in their system, often leading to their premature death by the hands of some rich, snobby kid.
I think these short reasons are by far enough to prove the non-need for lag.
Join me in the fight against lag! Hopefully if enough people talk, CCP will be inclined to update an outdated game mechanic.
Thank you, -Furo

The OP wasn't trying to be funny you croutons, he was trying to make a point about this well-intentioned but horrible feature called lag. tbh it has definitely outlived its purpose and I hope CCP looks into removing it soon. |

Giving head before logging does not create lag. Believe me I know.

crouton noun [usually plural]: A small square piece of bread that is fried or toasted (heated until it is crisp and brown) and which is added to soup or a salad just before you eat it.
Hence, small square pieces of nicely toasted bread, all floating aimlessly in a bowl of luke warm soup with rather sinister objects lurking from the bottom. Sums up this thread nicely!
Why you put a question mark is beyond me, that man is clearly a genius.
