To be honest, I'd love to see trade re-vamped. Proper, dynamic NPC trade goods with highly-profitable runs from lowsec to lowsec. A market with some actual big variations mirroring news reports and special events and a random seeded variation in conventional prices. Make blockade running and hazardous trade a professional again. [b]This brings more people to lowsec, gives the pirates and anti pirates more fun, and would restore a cruelly-nerfed profession. (and yep, I was once a trader in plut at the beginning of the game and it makes me sad that all those exciting times running high value trade goods past player pirates is pretty much gone from the game).
Have you actually tried running goods through some of the empire systems anytime in the past year? Large gatecamps abound that target ships haulers and traders use. The pirate corps that perform this PvP suffer only small losses (cheap tech 1 ships etc) with no real penalty. I am sure they no longer camp low sec areas since its more lucrative to camp high sec! Please tell me how encouraging traders into low sec (where 20% of eve population live) with high value goods for pirates to take (with even less consequences, since no concord) will help the traders (I can see how it will help the pirates).
Try hauling something of value from Jita to Rens to see how empire pirating works in practise. Blockade running and low sec trade has never gone away or been nerfed, as you seem to suggest. It just got more dangerous as pirate corps got more organised, and the odds are stacked in the pirate's favour, since they have the guns....
As for this:

Are you suggesting that there should be some changes in trading to actually allow one to make easy isk from NPC trade? I'm unsure how this will help...

I agree that some changes in trading is needed. However not to NPC trading. We need to give the player traders the tools to really do PVP on the market. That is they need to have the right to refuse service to groups that they don't like. That is a trader should be able to set a standing below which they won't deal with, and perhaps even a way to offer discounts based on standings.
We don't need more low sec hauling missions that pay more isk, not to mention the HICs would just kill them....

Does anybody actually believe that? As far as I can tell, the CSM candidates have their own ideas about how things ought to be.
A point I've been making for some time too as a candidate. In fact, a few candidates are being so strong with opinions and many have agendas, leading to misconceptions about the CSM role. Myself and a few other candidates are remaining true to open mindedness.
This is the first open democratic CSM election and as such will have teething issues. This is one imho. But one that as a voter, you can correct.

Well well, it's certainly good to get some feedback on that topic. Let's wait and see how it all turns out.
