I just returned recently, and was wondering when they removed the 10% points from EM armor resist of Typhoons. The data base, and EFT, say it should be 70% , but when i looked to buy a new one it was 60%. Probably a "balanceing " issue i missed while away. Really adds an aditional pain to tanking, as now EM is the lowest resist and highest output for Minmatar. I say lowest, because i combine both armor and shield resist for a base resistance. |

They took 10% off of all of teh ships, not just the Typhoon.
It was in the "boost patch". |

Edited by: 7shining7one7 on 18/04/2008 11:44:54 It has been changed across the board;
We gallenteans got a hard hit too, with -10% em resist on armor, even on the t2 ships, making it very hard to cover em and explo, explo was allready pretty hard to cover as it were.
but the plan was to boost amarr, and it most certainly worked.
with their allready 10 second extra firing time per reload (because they don't have to) and the other buffs like added dmg and restructuring of ship bonuses and slots, i think amarr pilots should be feeling pretty peachy lately. |

You combine armor and shield resists for a base resistance? Do you tank them both at the same time?
This change is not nearly as big a deal as everybody makes it out to be. Especially for minmatar. It makes small scale fights involving lasers a bit more balanced and that's it. |

Just think, amarr got 10% em on amar taken away and 10% given for explosive on shields. No amarr ship actively shield tanks. Only a few buffer shield tank, when they are speed tanking. (i.e. curse) |

I ain't whining, just wondering when i missed it. I think all setups suck, at least according to the forums, and we all need buffs. The answer from CCP about the laser buff, is that it is not a nerf, but a balancing. A balancing is something we can all access, just train Amarr or lasers.
Not a problem was just wondering if i was going crazy or if CCP had it in just for me, and i was buying the subpar ships.( yes i know, its Minmatar so its subpar)This is not a problem, just have to tweek the setups.
I do wish though that they would get around soon to updating the data base.

Edited by: Ashaz on 18/04/2008 14:38:20 Good evening mr minmatar pilot. Go have a look at, say, a vagabond. probably the most used ship in game today.
Tell me. What do you see in the EM resists there?
Yea. Thought so.
Now go find something propper to whine about. Minmatar is in NO way subpar nowadays. they are pretty much the best race out there for pvp. Virtually evrybody uses them. You don't become FOTM by beeing subpar. Meh. Some people...

Actually, one of the biggest problems EVE appears to have is the fact that CCP apparently listens to whines of all races and generally responds with a hearty nerf bat versus an actual boost.
Examples include: battlecruiser sheild nerf, drone nerf, tracking/dampner nerf, nos nerf. . .
At any rate, every race has it's whiners, it's just Amarr had been (at least somewhat justifiably) whining for longer than most. Of course, only about half the whines where reasonable and the rest seemed to paint a picture stating that flying Amarr was so incredibly difficult only the stupid or the badass would even try. I'm sure the same can be said about all the Races but Amarr just seemed to have a few incredibly vocal whiners that I don't think need to be named. |
