Which one is better 1v1 if both pilots were equally skilled? My friends say harbinger every time. I think the hurricane with 2x medium neuts. What do you think?

I'd say Harb, unless fight starts at point-blank and Cane has Hail loaded.
Neuts won't help you much actually, not against buffer-tanked ship with injector

Given equal skills and good fittings the Harbinger beats the Cane with ease. I've never lost a fight to a Cane. Last fight was against someone with about a year of training time on me and an all T2 fit and I still ate his Cane before I hit the bottom 1/3rd of armor.

what a great post.
anyways, my money is on the harb, BUT!
lets say we put a plate, maybe some trimarks or falloff rigs too, on the cane, along with 2xeanm and 3xgyros. ****ty buffertank, ok, but hear me out.
the cane COULD fit nos/neut in any combination and slack off the cap injector and use a tracking disruptor instead.
any way that any script could **** off the laser turrets enough? i dont use lasers too much so i dont know.
i know its iffy with the mwd you probably cant use on the cane resulting in the harb being able to totally dictate range, but i think it IS possible.
yay nay maybay? |

I hate when people answer this way ... so newbies my think that the harb id 3x better and the wine begins. A result like that mean that the cane was poorly fitted, so mean nothing when you do a ship comparisson.
Those 2 BC are quite balanced. the Harb can dish a bit more DPS but the cane is prefedable in some situation. For example it can be nanoed, and this improve your "survivability" if things go bad. |

actually this is the only way a cane really has much of a chance against a harbinger unless it's fit specifically to fight one. As a harbinger pilot the most frustrating thing is seeing Cane after Cane warp off with his tail between his legs. Sure you win the duel but your ego would rather have the kill mail. :) |

well, i faced once a cane that made me .
I was in an astarte , and i killed him but his dammage and tanking was far from crap. his low slots was:
1600mm, 2x eanm2, dc2, 2x damage mod
i suspect he had also slaves implants.. and rigs (trimarks ). He made me worry for a moment ( was not prepared to see a t1 bc last sooo loong ), so dont understimate this ship. A good pilot know how to fly them.

Hi there o/
It was me actually, no rigs or slaves and I burned one of my guns with overheating at the start of a fight Well, Astartes don't seem to die as easily as Absolutions to the unrigged Canes

Hello Kaileen .. it was a good fight against you but i was not talking about our fight ( was 2-3 weeks ago, right?), as far i know now rigs appear on killmails, and i saw not rigs.
I think it was 1 year ago ( or more ? rigs was a recent addendum then) ... but since then i learned a bit how to survive. I should be ashamed but then i was realy close to loose.
Still... i was positivelly impressed by your performance. |

don't you feature in a pvp movie in a prophecy that lasts an astoundingly long time while doing a ludicrous (for a proph) amount of dps? It was in a 1v1 with something

Well, if I didn't make some mistakes I did make it would've been more.. thrilling tbh

If you're talking about Corwain's vid, then yes, it was me. Actually that was quite an embarassment, should've won that fight, but being half-awake clicked approach instead of orbit at 6.5km(and this was vs blaster myrm, sigh)
Well.. anyway, seeing as I've already posted 3 times in here, I might as well post something more constructive, hehe.
My POV on Cane vs Harb is:
1. Cane's likely to lose in a straight 1v1 2. Cane can do more dps, is more agile and can vary damage types to some degree. 3. Harb tanks better, has better range and dps/range stability, more ewar capability thanks to 5 med drones as opposed to Cane's 4 lights + 1 med 4. Cane's way easier to fit 5. Cane doesn't scare the hell out of nanoships Well, it does, but not as much as Harb does

Kaileen .. i can only confirm it was a very nice fight.. i started using just 1 rep ( BIG MISTAKE), and turned on the second when i saw i was half armour ( and you still with 3/4 i think) and then with my tanking was barely stable. you had betetr dps as expected, and was the best recent pvp i got recently.
EDIT TO GO BACK IN TOPIC: all this discusion should make clear to the OP that both ahrb and cane are good ships. Both have some pros and some cons. Quite hard to tell that one is great and the other crap. Fly what u like more ( or the one where you have better skills) |

Cane is useful in more situations, but 1v1 the Harb should win vs. a Cane. ----------------------------------- You're not a pirate unless your -10 |
