The fedo is a CONFIRMED ALIEN SPECIES IN THE GAME.
For more alien information please click the Space Whaling link in my signature. There is a lot of information and it may seem very silly at first but just try and imagine the occupation and how it functions ;) ---

You know, every gate jump having a small chance to drop you in the middle of nowhere under attack by nice bounty Thargoids that will easily pwn you if you are too weak somehow appeals to me. Have the client play some blue danube to it and I'll feel like 20 years younger... ;)

Edited by: Mithfindel on 20/04/2008 22:15:30 Slavers may also be aliens, too. Though they might be feral dogs evolved into what they currently are. Hanging long-limbs are also alien species. And then fedos were already mentioned.
Sentient aliens? Besides of rogue drones, none known this far. The Endehuanni, who the Jove alledgedly fight, are mentioned (by Jove) to be "no longer human".
Edit: Admittedly it would be cool to hear the next Emperor be titled "Friend on the victims of War, Hammer of the causes of War, Upholder of the Scales of Peace, Ally to the Aliens". |

I was thinking of this in my renaissance lecture about three weeks ago and ive come to a conclusion about this. Many years ago when eve was really really new these forums were like hell themselves with the love that the creators had for eve they couldnt chill out a let things ride a little and almost ruined the game by the control freak mentality.
So I have to a conclusion and this is not being anything other than honest - the distinct lack of other life within the eve unniverse is very reflective of the mindset of the creators of the game.
The problemmatical aspect to much of the personalities of the game creators at the beginning was that they were akin to Hollywood stars (see the 'fan' submissions' ie - we are not fans we are customers - fans pay to see other peoples expertise. Remnants of this nefarious and sociopathic mindset are still around the game and the unniverse, but earlier on in the game it felt like we the customers were almost lucky to be paying the creators mortgages type of thing.
This nefarious egotism in the minds of the creators is highlighted by the distinct absence of other than human life, the creators of the game couldnt even see that we customers were needed at the beginning, if you get my drift.
Its also ironically a very deep seated human problem globally at this time on the planet, most people dont understand the reality of what being human actually means.
Firstly being human means that we are organims of the unniverse, what we see on earth is pretty much how it will be EVERYWHERE in the unniverse - ie cat eats mouse - mouse eats worm etc etc etc ...!
The rality of being a unniversal organism contains within it the reality of understanding what our own special reality means in unniversal terms. IT IS MORE probable than not that life exists in the unniverse.
This is beyond most peoples understanding - this lack of understanding leads the astute and knowledgeable critic to be able to see the reflection of the game creators themselves.
In NOT being to consider that life exists elsewhere in the unniverse and in all probability in many forms other than our own and that life elsewhere is probably (some of it) far more advanced than we ourselves - you see the distinct beginnings or signs of a sociopathic mentality. Sociopaths are not able to recognise their own limittations or even recognise that other people are anything other than for their amusement or purpose. Sociopaths are always aa group mentality it is the group that is sociopathic and people that are within it protect the sociopathic psychosis from being identified.
Look at eve and you will see that the world is FULL of socipaths.
You will not get that sociopathic at the UHBC for a number of reasons the two of us both understand implicitly that eve is a game that we pay to play out of free choice, most people would say that we dont play the game seriously etc etc etc ... !
In conclusion any person or game creator that doesnt recognise the true reality of the unniverse is basically rejecting that they are indeed a unniversal organism - this is the type of mentality that stops the onset of a hydrogen infrastructure - the only reason that any life in the unniverse actually exists is because of hydrogen combustion (suns) to dismiss therefore that to create energy by the combustion of hydrogen and to embrace the unniversal process' that created all life (in every form) throughout the unniverse (and sustains life in every form throughout the unniverse) is do deny that you are a unniversal organism. this is akin to primtive creatures which we are categorically not.
This is also a reflection of the failure of our current economy ... any economy that bases its foundation on a finite resource is for all intense and purposes finite. Where economy is reliant on people this means that people are finite. If you base your economy on an infinite resource then your economy has the potentiality of infinitegrowth.

This can be applied to space games .... !
Where you have the potential for infinite life you have the potential for infinite creativity... that means infinite content growth. base your game on a single life form creativity is controlled and the mind is turned into a mind that cannot imagine relationships with other THINGS... and thus we see in eve the distinct lack of human interaction. It is not the person your are seeing it is the ship, almost akin to the way the germans saw the jewish way back during the ssecond world war. In eve YOU ARE THE SHIP - and they are something that you can never beat - thats why they had to make players chars able to reclone but the problem with this .. is that human life has no relevance only the ship and the modules you have fitted.
Exploration is one exxception to the game mechanics of eve. Our every brains are actually using the ships to find stuff etc and thats why in the exploration channel everything is really friendly and a great place to hang out.
The cynical but valid critic might however turn round and try to suggest due to the introduction of EVE which highlights that the unniverse is run by greedy and cold hearted multi national companies etc etc that eve highlights perfectly in a satirical way modern life on planet earth... people will do literally anything for money ...
First person to pm me in game gets 2 million isk for free... !
SEE .....!

Why should there be intelligent aliens in EVE? We're very likely to find alien life, at some stage of development (and in EVE we have), but intelligent life? Remember that 3 million years ago we weren't even here (The homo genus appeared about 1.5-2.5 mil years ago), and in another 3million years we're probably not going to be here either, at least not in any shape or way that we'll recognize. And this in a universe that is billions of years old.
And to make it even more unlikely, Intelligent life that, if they can, actually wants to communicate with us.
The Drake Equation can give you a very varied result and EVE is hardly the only sci-fi universe featuring only one intelligent species. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. It's given freely, and only grudgingly retracted when necessary. |
