Has anyone ever done it? Do you know anyone who has succeeded?
For those who aren't familiar with the gallon challenge, the idea is you try to drink a gallon of milk in an hour (about 3.5L). Based on Google, tons of people end up failing, although thats probably a biased sample since videos of people just drinking milk (and not puking) aren't very interesting.

At first I thought you meant the "drive as far as possible on one gallon of petrol" challenge.
Milk? I'd fail at that, the thought of drinking just one glass of the stuff makes me very unhappy indeed. Not intolerant or anything, I just don't like the stuff and I can get all the nutrients I need from other things thank you very much.
Closest I ever got to any of this madness was the coffee pot challenge I once participated in (and won).

I can often drink nearly a gallon of orange juice(or most other juices for that matter)in a half an hour, I dont see how drinking a gallon in an hour would be hard to me.

Holy crap man I guzzle down beverages every day if I have absolutly nothing to do. I've been very bad before over weekends and just went all out crazy - and I must of drank at least half a gallon in a hour, and I wasn't even trying.
I'm pretty sure I could beat the gallon challenge but I probably would feel like a balloon for a while and have trouble sleeping lol. ____________________

Hard, but not too hard. In the aus army, we've got two main food challenges. The rat pack challenge is to eat an entire ration pack in half an hour. A rat pack ways 1kg and you can generally last a couple of days on one. I think we worked them out to be about 20,000 kj each. Closest I've seen anyone come is a 45kg woman who just needed to down her last main meal before she vomitted.
You've also got the cordial challege for the drinking-challenge fans. Rat packs contain sachets of what basically amounts to powerade. 1 sachet = 1 litre of said powerade. You get a sachet, add enough water to make up about a shot and see how many shots you can down. I think our platoon record is 18

I've been told that it is physically impossible for most people to do this simply because of limited stomach capacity.

I know a guy who tried- he was so incredibly, incredibly ill. Seriously. Vomiting blood and everything.
Not worth it, tbh. ------
