o/,
Whenever i open the latest eve client, i find that i get instantly a black screen on my monitor. I cannot get out of the 'black screen' and i have to restart my computer again to be able to use my pc.
I have seen fixes to this problem, however they are from earlier patches and i don;t want to continue doign anythign until i've had some positive answers and i no what i have to do to fix the problem.
Many thanks, i hope someone can help me with the solution to my problem.

alright...kind of fixed. I turned my screen res down from 1680x1050 and it started up fine. Apparently eve can't handle that big a res...is this true? I hate all the lower res options eve gives you...is this a bug or can eve just not take that?

I also use 1680x1050 and every now and again, apparently at random, my screen goes black and I can't get out of it, with my only option to reboot my PC by holding in the power button.
Sometimes it doesn't happen all night, other times it has happened 3 times in 10 minutes, and I cannot see any correlation between things I am doing. Some times I am doing nothing at all even, just idling and it goes.
Swren, could you let us know what resolution you use, so we could see if we are all using 1680x1050? |

Oh, also, info about your gfx card could be useful.
I'm using an Asus GeForce 8800GT |

well, im also getting a similar probelm, whn i start EVE in Fullscreen mode(1280x1024) after about 5min the screen goes black and the monitor goes in Standby, as if the PC would have shut down but its Still running, i solved it by playing EVE in Window mode, which for me isnt a long time solution, PS: It happend a while after i installed Vista 32 on my Computer, ive got a Radeon X1950 Pro. im pretty sure its on the gfx card, it hears like it would shut down...

only happens with Eve with me unfortunatly.
This will be a tough one to fix, because until we can actually recreate the problem on demand, finding a true fix for it will be nearly impossible.

Interesting.
Done a bit of testing. Seems to only happen when I am in a station. Turned off the station graphics but it didn't make a difference.
Flying around in space and it is fine, but I can be sitting in a station doing absolutly nothing and my whole PC will just black screen. Can't see anything relevant in the event logs either.
Anyone got any ideas for things I could try next? |
