Sorry just noticed this, but what is the point of the filter if it doesn't **** out words when you use the 'quote' option?
When the message box comes up all the profanity is there in its er profane glory.
So what is the point?

filter isnt really the main thing. If u do get round it, u get punished.

How can I turn this filter off? It really ****es me off to always read those *** signs! How old do they think we are, 17? |

The sad thing about the filter is that its dumb.
Im not talking about dumb as its dumb to have it but as in the filter isnt smart itself.
I personally try to stay of profanities but have been suprised to find that my posts have been affected at times as words can meen more than one thing.
Further having the filter removing names is just bizarr, the german dictator or the iraqi one both have names that are fairly common today so why filter them?
Next we have other cultures, the filter is specified to a specific culture, if I for example say
"Im off to have a****"
Should any part of this be filtered?
All from GB will say no as what Im saying is simply
"Im off to have a smoke"
and lets not go into all the profanities that you can slip past the filter by simply misspelling and using inuendo.
Faulk is a perfect example of that or the 4 letter f word, is it in reality any better to say 4 letter f word than ****?
Well the filter is here to make the site PG13 wich is a rating that doesnt even exist in sweden.
In short live with it and hope they dont downgarde to the harcher one that bleeps out profanities in the middle of words like lass becoming l*** :)

I've said all along, they need to kill the auto-filter and employ someone to actually *shock horror!* moderate the boards instead. As it is, people can curse and swear as much as they like just by altering odd letters and such, but you can't talk about safe-guards, and if you come from Scun-thorpe in Lincolnshire, you can't even tell people where you live

the only things you won't really find in pg13 movies r bewbs and err massive gore, n stuff..
