how come i cannot create a 2nd character it goes as far as the appearance and then just stops. why?

Having the exact same problem, filed a petition, awaiting response now.
Tried on different computers and different accounts too. Same on every one.

Maybe the maximum number of Alts for Eve Online has been created? :P
CCP needs to make another clean out, this time it should'nt be leftover cans in space but old unused characters :P
Btw, Still having the same problem, stuck after u pick ur character lookout ...

I found a solution that worked for me.
First i started the logserver then i ran the eve exe without any paramets (such as end lua etc).
Then and only then did it work for me 
Edit; i've tried on different computers, with cleared cach and re-installed client. None of those worked though.

Day Two and still no word...
I tried your way and I got no joy... stalls out and can't do a thing. I am getting to be quite the expert at character creation in the mean time...

I am having the same issue. In my case I found a shortcut in my EVE program folder for "eve.exe (Safe Mode)"...by using this shortcut to start the game, I was able to create a new character.
Hope this helps...

Don't bother with petitioning open a bug report stat, you'll find that on the left of this current screen at the bottom of "EVE Insider". That'll get CCP's attention faster and they can do something about it then!
