what about having some sort of system for corp that surrender to a war?
something on the lines of
corp a declares on corp b
at the war dec corp a decides what the consequences would be if corp b was to surrender: for instance a money ransom
corp b would have to pay or be disbanded. the amount could be maybe a fixed amount based on the number of player within that alliance or corp.
if, as it happens, it was a corp from an alliance which surrendered to the attacking corp they could pay a percentage base on the number of players against the alliance..
what do you recon?

Naw, this isn't harsh, this is exactly what we need. A mechanic for corporations to be erased from existence. I mean, it's something we all do as part of the game anyway: attack our enemies until they get sick of fighting and disband. Having a mechanic for it would be awesome.

In your case. You would just steal corp wallet and assets. Then leave corp wondering what just happened.

i usually demand singing in local as terms of surrender, especially if the corp has no more money or members.
However no one has done it yet.

Hehe, I remember a cool surrender I bagged in the early days of Eve. The corp's CEO gave us an Arma as compensation, back when an Armageddon was still a big deal. But yeah, it was my only one.
I think that if surrendering were better implemented, more people would use the option.
edit: We still have the actual Armageddon. We used it in combat a few times but now keep it safe as a treasured keepsake. It must be like, three years old now <3 |

A) Once a corporation name or alliance is created it is never erased from the database (even if said corp/alliance is disbanded) it can never be used again.
B) Only the executor corp of an alliance can surrender or declare war. It would be chaotic if every member corp could make such alliance wide affecting decisions.
That aside it's an interesting idea. One thing i've noticed though, and I don't know about the rest of you, but when we the players come up with a plausable idea to solve a problem, CCP in their infinite wisdom (haha), ignore us and implement some half baked idea that results in more bugs and problems.
Perhaps if we post the moronic solutions (ccp's ideas), they'll actually fix something for once.
