Hello everyone,
I used to run EVE in windowed mode no problem until the Trinity update. Ever since, whenever I switch EVE into windowed mode the game will constantly skip / jitter every second and makes the experience very un-enjoyable. I opened up the task manager, and found when EVE is in full screen (and it runs smoothly) it's using as much CPU as it needs at any given time like normal. However, when running in windowed mode EVE uses only 0-2% CPU at any given time. My guess is for some reason now when running in Windowed mode, windows will not let EVE use the proper CPU percentages.
Has anyone else experienced this / Or know what the problem could be? I'd be interested to know. So we can compare, here are my system specs:
Windows XP Pro SP2 AMD Athlon 64 5000+ X2 (Dual-core) @ 2.6GHz nVidia GeForce 8800GTX 768MB w/ 169.13 drivers 2GB of DDRII 800MHz RAM (PC6400) Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 AM2 motherboard
- Thanks

Has anyone else run into this? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Edited by: DanielJackson SG1 on 23/04/2008 00:15:39 Well, I posted a bug report about it on the bug tracker, I was told to upload a logserver log (which I did) but haven't heard anything back yet. It's frustrating to think no one else has been experiencing this...

Ah, well it looks like I stumbled upon the solution!
It appears that setting the 'Present Interval' setting to 'Interval default' was causing it to jitter in windowed mode. Resetting it to 'Interval Immediate' resolved the problem.
I can't even really find a good description of what this setting does; or why it's there. All I know is that freezing can happen in the 'interval default setting'.
- Cheers, DanielJackson SG1.
