One question CCP... Whats the reason that drones give out minerals and not bounties? Where does that leave the miners in your opinion?
ps. The candidate that is going to put 'bounties not minerals for drone kills' on the agenda gets my vote!

People will whine about anything these days. It just adds a bit of difference in the NPCs. The drones don't have bounties because they are just self-replicating machines, and aren't criminals.

That's how I've always justified it. Even though I'd like more money

While the thread is here. I have a little experience with drone land ratting, and I know that I find it suits my needs better than normal ratting. However I have found that drone ratting does not produce as much ISK as normal ratting does. (Due to faction drops/spawns and carrier/hauler spawns compared to sentient drone drops ... w00t)Anyway I was just wondering why this has been done?

Problem is that the way rogue drones work in the game lowers mineral prices.

Maybe they're not criminals, but they should have a bounty on them as they are percieved as a dangerous threat. CONCORDE should really have a price on every one of their heads to have an incentive for people to kill them. _ EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Let's put a CONCORD bounty price on every pilot with a weapons module attached to their ship since at that point anyone can be a threat. ><
Seriously though, the relation between drones and CONCORD is fine. CONCORD is a police force against criminals, not the rogue drones. If you were to include the drones, then CONCORD's role would change. |

Looking at the story of EVE it makes sense. But somewhere, at one point, CCP made a decision to use minerals as loot instead of isk. I can't imagen somebody at CCP didn't asked the same question "What about the people who skilled for mining?". What was the answer on that question, is what I like to know.
On a sidenote, they should balance it out a bit. Feels strange there isn't any Mercoxit to be seen, still the drones give out the mineral that is found in Mercoxit.

It's a bit of a bugger of a situation. CCP could compensate miners by increasing yield from 'roids, but that'd lower the value of drone droppings, making them even less appealing than bounty rats. Alternatively they leave drone droppings roughly equivalent in value to bounty rats, which will inevitably mean lower prices for miners.
If there's a good answer to the conundrum, it's beyond me. ------

I think that the drones should drop less pure minerals, and instead you get some moon materials and other odd things in there. The moon material market needs to come down (especially with the rarer moon materials) and with all of the high end minerals you get from drone minerals. It makes the high end minerals cheap and makes mining in 0.0 pretty much worthless My Blog |

These are self-replicating machines we're talking about here, CONCORD can't possibly keep a track record of how many of them there are, let alone assign bounties to them.

It's simple - dropping minerals stops inflation. It also forces alliances to be involved in the game (by having outposts and logistic routes) and lastly it hinders ISK farmers. Everybody's happy.

in teh drone regions i believe the drop loot or slavage to the effect of faction drones
drones have no bounties as they are not human as you need to be a pilot to recieve a bounty
and the vote thingy isnt a way to sway policy , CCP have this in for a good region other than just thinking personally about you and your wallet
i have had it up to here *figerativly* with people moaning on forum to persuade game mechanic to suit there ends and not thinking about the consenquences of there action because they want a easy ride.... this game wasnt easy on any of us at the begining but we learnet with what we got .....deal with it
