Real time, near-photo-realistic rendering, on current hardware.
Granted, the polygon count is low, but this shouldn't be possible. Rendering a HDRI Map (Which is what is used for the backgrounds - 64 / 128 bit images) takes seconds for single frames in a rendering engine, and the results are exactly the same. The Depth of field is insane, the number of passes must be huge...
I don't know how this is possible, but unless I'm dreaming...holy ****...
Oh, and it was released 5 years ago. 族---族

the graphics card industry bought the rights to this technology and destroyed it so that we would have to buy the latest super expensive hardware from them!!1

Are there any more recent updates on it?
Cause otherwise if it is legit, its obscurity and lack of progress brings to mind tin-foil-hat theories about big evil companies suppressing it
Or just, well, that is wasn't successful for some reason. Any reason to think the Demo and stuff isn't representative of what it could do in practical use? --------------

WOOO
I love this thing. It is pretty amazing, although back when it was released I was only getting like 30fps, and now I'm getting over 100 at a much higher resolution

honestly it looks great at rendering smooth objects and the background although blured looks great also, I have trouble distinguishing if its a photo or actually CG.
Wonder how it will deal with rough textured objects that arn't as shiny.

I've been using that program for a while (at least since November of last year) to test vid card overclocks. Works great to max the card out quickly, giving a better idea of heat and stability while testing.
Works great.

that works in the same way as that .kkrieger demo from years back, doesn't it? procedural generation of all the textures and stuff, rather than loading ****loads of hi-res images? possibly with all the calculations done in advance this time.
i don't make computergames or anything, but i'd always assumed it was the textures that slowed conventional 3d rendering down.
