Edited by: Managalar on 23/04/2004 01:32:58 I had a small glimmer of hope that the recent patch would have undone the screw over my agent got in the patch before (where he stopped giving me implants..I've kept the faction corp/agent ~ 9/9 for a while now). I got another 'important' mission this morning and it was something like 70k isk payout, 70k isk bonus and just about said teh hell with this nickle and dime bull*hit the next time I got the chance...but I didn't because I'm desperate for more implants =======Abaddon=======

in anycase:
Quote: At 1/8 odds, if your agent happens to have all 8 important missions at his disposal, the total numbers would be about 276 normal + 23 important = 299 missions at 0 standings, or 161 normal + 23 important = 184 missions at 10 standings.
Here for more info on that.
And if you think your transactions aren't displaying correct figures bug report it.

The agent standing is effective +39 not 0 and even at 0 odds are it should have come up ages ok - i think the agent in question had 5-6 important missions including implant

Nope. +39 is EQ = effective Quality, not standing. Max standing is 10 and at 10 with an agent that has all eight types of IMportant missions you wnt get a 95% chance of getting an implant mission until 23 important missions have passed.
Read the above link again and relate it to your standing to your agent.
As the info clearly states there is nothing unsual about the cirs~ and the rate you are getting implants. Just take time to read the link above carefully and ask for clarification on anything you don't understand, or others have given you duff information on.

I didnt get jack before patch or after. My lvl 3 agent isnt the best around but still. Now for stupid question, Do you have to have the cybernetics skill to get the implants as rewards?
Rum.com

No. It doesn't do a skill check that I know of, it just takes a long time before you and your agent are close. =======Abaddon=======

If your agent has all of the 8 possible Important mission types, and even if your stnading with that agent is 10 you could still do the following before you had a 95% chance of getting an implant:
161 normal + 23 important = 184 missions at 10 standings.
Note: It is thus VERY well worthwhile not just getting "anyold agent" or indeed "the very best agent" but if you want implants you want an agent with the least number of important missions as possible (i.e. 3).
Finding that out is a case of trial and error.

I'm wondering... is it still 8 important missions or did they add some more with the patch, thus reducing the chance for implants?

I think is the real question... there was something about fixing/adding missions in the patch notes.
I also think some of my agents are giving important mission they didn't use to.. so the chances might have changed.

Little bit of clarification:
Important Missions that count are with the same agent - you cant take important missions form different agents and roll them together.

lol...my daughter has been getting implant misions on a fairly regular basis for some time now, even since all the patches so things seem to be working well.
Just one point, if the missions are random and you have a 1/100 chance of any mission being an important mission with implant reward then after 100 missions you still have a 1% chance of your next mission being an implant mission. Unless the system is keeping track of what missions you have had then the only factor increasing your chances is your agent standing and that seems to be only increasing your chances of getting an important mission. From what I have read here it seems that if every mission was an important mission you would still only have a 1 in 5 chance of getting an implant mission. And if you did 100 important missions without getting an implant the chance of getting an implant mission the next time would still only be 1 in 5. You can never get your chance of getting an implant mission up to 95%, unless, as I say the system is keeping tabs on your missions, in which case it would be incorrect for the devs to say that the missions are random.

The 'a case of kidnapping' mission is now an important mission, since it's adding faction standing.
Seems the important mission types are at least 9 different now

I think you are just hitting one of those bad luck streaks. If your agent has 4 important missions it doesn't mean you will get a implant once in every 4 missions.
Think of it in this way, imagine your agent has 6 important missions, each time you hit an important mission you have the same chance of getting an implant as you would have rolling a six on a dice. Go get yourself a 6 sided dice and try rolling it a few times and see how it works out. For all the people posting that they haven't had an implant in a few rolls there are lots more people who are probably on a good streak and might have a had a few in a row.

Sorry this isn't exactly correct... although the chance for any one mission will always be 1/5 the chance that you will get at least one important mission in X missions is not 1/5. The probability is really discribed by a binomial distribution... if there is a 1/5 chance of getting an implant mission then you can say that after 20 missions there is over a 98% chance that at least one of them will be an implant mission. However this is not a guarentee, you still can be in the unlucky 2%. It also doesn't mean that if you have done 20 missions without an implant that there is better chance to get one the next mission, it just means that you are somewhat unlucky.
