as a generally tip - every patch (and in between if you like_ clear out your cache entirely.
You will have to recreate things like settings and bookmark folders but it solves a tonne of persistent problems, makes eve load faster and avoids all sorts of problems.
i had over 26,000 images in the cache/browser/img directory, every single one of them a copy of images from teh billboards. EVE is very very untidy at times and in places.

I like to clear out everything right before playing so this is what I did:
1)Set prefs.ini to READ ONLY 2)Made little batch file! del C:\games\EVE\cache\*.* /q del C:\games\EVE\cache\Browser /q/s del C:\games\EVE\cache\Map /q del C:\games\EVE\cache\Shader /q del C:\games\EVE\cache\Temp /q/s del C:\games\EVE\cache\Texture /q/s del C:\games\EVE\capture\Gamelogs /q del C:\games\EVE\logs /q
Clears out the chaff and keeps all my precioussss settings! Now why doesn't the Eve client have Clear Junk button?
