I tried to search for an existing thread, didn't find one.
anybody else thinks cargoholds are too small? I can't even loot 1/10th of a mission any more. -- You can't do that with a Planet. |

This is why you bookmark a wreck in each room, and come back with a hauler (yes... a hauler with enough utility highs to be useful as a salvager would be nice )
Lame it is... maybe the solution is not running missions anymore? ------------

the ACTUAL solution is to not pick up t1 unnamed loot.... Unless you have a hauler >.>

most missions i have done have had about 1500m3 of loot.
all that t1 stuff is great for melting down and then building stuff. like say battleships

If they melt to a pile of minerals they need to be big else you have mineral compression factility in half of stations.
If you find out that destroyer is not fit for L4 you may want to take a look at some bigger ships, like BC or BS.
I don't like it either, I just choose to act and adapt.

I use hauler spawns. So much less work involved ------------

You can (probably) thank CCP's anti-mineral compression campaign for this. I think your best bet is to get a 2nd account for a hauler alt. I used to use 14 day trials as hauler alts, but now you can't :(

Yeah, they're 50m3. At least CCP fixed the really ridiculous things (some medium weapons were 100m3, and Large Smartbombs even more ridiculous).
However, I've never had problems looting L4s in a T2 expanded Catalyst destroyer. If there's too much loot, I drag a jetcan behind me with a tractor and loot into the can. Then I either just do two destroyer trips or come back in a hauler, depending on how much loot there is (and how much of the overflow is crap like Metal Scraps and Cap Boosters). -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

I use catalyst with three cargo hold expanders with 800m3. It is not always enough for all missions and may require even three trips.
Also I tend to leave cap booster charges and some other wortheless junk floating in space.

If I loot I will certanly recover every T1 unnamed loot as melting it net several millions isk every time. Not looting the unnamed loot make looting a mission not woerthwile.

Edited by: Togg Bott on 21/04/2008 11:57:39 Edited by: Togg Bott on 21/04/2008 11:57:09 Hurricane with 6 t2 expanders in low slots. 3 tractor beams and 5 salvagers. pull it in loot drop 2 salvagers on a piece and go to the next one.. by the time you drop the last oddball salvager on the third wreck you have cleaned off the salvage on the first and start over. i will haul 2040m# loot/salvage with my skills. does go kinda slow... nice named ab for in mission salvaging will only get you to about 230 m/s

By the same token, not only does it not pay to run missions anymore, it doesn't pay to rat anymore.

What level missions? What level of ship?
By Level 3 or 4 you should be able to buy and extra BattleShip or BattleCruiser for salvaging after the mission. I typically do a mission, don't cash it in, return with another BS or BC outfitted with expanders/salvagers /tractor beams and have plenty of room for all the loot. |
