How long does it take a rorq to compress a freighter's load full of ice? I'm not looking for a down to the second measurement, but more of a general idea.

I havent tryed to compress ice, but i have tryed normal ore, but i think there it is any deferent. with my skills it takes 48sec to do 1 compression, so if im right then it will take 48sec to compress 1 ice (1000m3 in to 100m3) So depending on your frighter skill you can have betwen 75 and 90 somthing ice qubes, that will take betwen 60 to 72min, but you can run 4 compressions at the same time so that will cut you down to 15-20min.

You're off by a factor of 10 there, a freighter has between 750k and ~900k.
So for an avg we're talking 8250 cubes.

A compression job takes 48 seconds and compresses 1 block of ice. We can run 4 jobs at once. This gives us an average time of 12 seconds per block.
An average skilled Charon comes out to close to 900km3 of cargo space and a block of ice is 1km3, so we'll assume we have 900 blocks of ice.
900*12 seconds = 10800 seconds, or 3 hours on the dot.
Fun fact: The average Rorq will need 23040 units of heavy water to run that long. This will cost all of roughly 1 million ISK. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Automated Influence Map |

It's not the cost of heavy water that I factor in, its the cost of paying off a rorq pilot to sit on mash buttons for 3 hours straight for me

Not to mention the herd of Mack pilots you need to get your 9000 cubes, that's approx 150 pilot hours for that ice much assuming 60 cubes/hr per well skilled Mack pilot.
150 pilots = 1 hour 75 pilots = 2 hours 38 pilots = 4 hours 19 pilots = 8 hours 10 pilots = 15 hours 5 pilots = 30 hours
You can knock those times down a lot if you can utilize the Rorq's bonuses when mining the ice.
