Edited by: KungFU Trader on 21/04/2008 19:52:41 OK eve ccp whoever whatever im about to pull my hair out and I dont have any hair to pull out im almost bald.
(1) THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE and I dont know what the hell is going on but its putting a real crimp in doing what i do and that is industry and trading etc etc... I am buying minerals at one price then going to sell them in assorted regions where for instance lets use trit.
A. GO out to a point somthing buy a freighter full 90 million trit for eh 3 bucks. B. FLy back to a high sec station says they are buying 400 million plus for 3.34 C. Go to sell and buy is for 3.19 WHAT THE *** D. Refresh market make sure somebody didnt dump a load.. check system...check station..nope same diff no biggie WTH
Also I am gonna BEG BEG BEG you guys to do one thing...THose of use that do actually fly around doing market transactions go look at the market to buy something...great price and it gives a system name station location etc.
ONE THING IT DOES NOT GIVE.....and very time consuming is a NUMBER of the sec status of where you are trying to buy your stuff. DO you even realize how many times I need to query the database to find out if I can buy stuff and have the system sec level on the actual market board.
Short and sweet im wondering if database is updating and PLEASE PUT the sec level of the system that you are buying out of somewhere on the main market page so we know what were getting into.
ALSO doing that would probably save a million database queries as its ALREADY listed and one can make a choice right away about what they are going to do..
AM i making any sense yet

huh.
Whenever I buy something or plan to haul somewhere I always seem to use the BUILT IN functions to check the location and its security status. Goes something like "Right-click, location, view info" or something close....
Guess I'm just more careful.

Click on market button, click on settings tab, un-check the 'display orders in zero security systems' and 'display orders in low security systems'.
That should take care of your sec status problem. Not as good as listing the sec status I know but it does work.

Yeah thing is if I do that then im losing out on a full market view.. Just be nicer to have the number right there next to it. I know it sounds small but even with the low sec ones checked u still have to go see info to see what kind of sec it is.
Id say stuff it in thier and save the database 100's of millions of queries a day and save that for something else. Less load one way can help the data base

I agree with this point. If I'm going into lowsec I want to take in a small, lighter ship that can warp fast. Not so worried about that in high-sec. But I don't filter my searches because I'm willing to go to either. Having that info available at a glance would be much more convenient than clicking on each system to check the security level.
Then again, this doesn't affect me much as I usually know which systems in my region are low-sec or not. But it would still be a handy feature.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

should the game haul it for you as well.
reading the market quickly and correctly is a valuable player skill....shouldnt be dumbed down. Besides, the market basically tells you all of that already, such as green highlighting for orders you can fill from your current location. As for how much you will recieve, game doesnt know how much you will necessarily sell.

should the game haul it for you as well. ^^ Thanks for being a troll and a smart ass..no i like to haul thank u very much.

What is this your way of saying if we make mistakes because holy cow you read it perfect everytime everybody else should. The point is to have an efficent system of interaction . Besides, the market basically tells you all of that already, such as green highlighting for orders you can fill from your current location.
SO whats wrong with a little more info on the page reminding you of other options... Its not dumbing down its merely a reminder of what is their.
As for how much you will recieve, game doesnt know how much you will necessarily sell.
Ah you misunderstood that part.. IM talking price wise. For instance trit will be bought at this station for 3.35 but in station ***** buy price is 4.55. As far as volume nope but as far as best price and person to sell to YES.

Although he doesn't make it very well, the OP has a point. He should just have said "add system sec status to market".
Anything that cuts down on queries is good. Since sec status never changes (except by CCP), just perma-attach it to the station info (unless factional warfare will make it change).
