Anyone else having a problem with the station lights? I have turned off station effects but my God I can't even look at the screen when I'm in station because of the brightness of the lights. Any suggestions?

Yeah, whatever happened to that funky effect that lowered the light levels when you rotated your camera to look directly at a light-source I seem to remember from the classic client?
Now as it is, some systems are crazy-bright and even hurt my eyes with the sun shining so brightly.

See those little buttons on the side of your monitor, use them. With that card youre lucky you're seeing the lights. |

Don't be silly. Trying to solve software problem with hardware is a very poor idea. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

When we hit trinity and got hdr suns gained a whole new spectrum. Agreed station lights shouldn't be at the level of suns, but it's the same effect so adjusting your display to suit the hdr should sort it (partially). Suns still blind me but tbh, you'd expect a big ball of fire to.
If something else is happening can the op post a screen shot?

This ^^ is the cool thing about asking nerds questions....
As someone else has posted, even if my card is **** like you are suggesting, it works fine on all the other games that I play and doesn't require me to adjust my monitor. I have played some Anarchy Online, WoW, etc.. and numerous offline games with no "supernovas" burning my eyes out of their sockets.

Very noticable when using small ships (shuttles etc) as zoomed in. Zoom out and its ok, not sure if its all stations or not. Extremely irratating.

Spotlights in stations are known to be a bit bright; however you should be able to rotate the camera so that the spotlights are off-camera. Unless of course the light is bleeding into the entire scene and causing everything to be too bright, if that is the case please submit a bug report with a screenshot of the problem. ____________________________ I break things.

I don't load the station environment so I don't have the option to rotate the camera and quite often all I can see is a bright blue screen.

Like the previous poster I don't load station environment either so rotating the ship isn't an option. To test it, I did load station environment which allowed me to turn the camera, but it didn't really cut down on the brightness. I don't really understand why I should fill out a bug report with a screenshot when I have a screeny in my sig. |

So that you can get a reply other than "works on my machine"?
Seriously though, many bugs are specific to particular settings, or machine configurations. It makes things immensly faster and work out with better results when we get proper information from you guys.
It is impossible for us to have machines of every possible configuration or for us to test every possible client setup; there are literally tens of thousands of different ways you can setup your client. Otherwise we're left with having to randomly guess what your setup and client configuration is which could take years.
Yes, the defect/bug is in our software, but you obviously want it fixed.. wouldn't you rather be part of the solution instead of just whining about it? ____________________________ I break things.

Nice customer service. Pointing out a flaw in your ****ty software is whining? And this question is to Tanis, not the fanboi club. ------

THIS is why you don't bother with a bug report:
Hello Odewad, Thank you for your bugreport - ID:57212 Title: Blinding Lights in the stations. The problem you have described as an intended game feature, and not a bug. Your bugreport has been filtered.
So look at my screeny in my sig. CCP has confirmed that this IS in fact an intended game feature. Nice feature. ------
