To be honest, I never actually tried any OTHER browsers for the EVE-O forums, but I have to say, "out of the box" Opera is the best thing for these forums here. The feature I'm talking about is... whenever the forums "eat" your post because you logged out (damn you ASP)... all you have to do is go back and repost, since the text is still there.
So... any other browser that "remembers" your inputs when you hit back, or do the rest all eat your posts ?

No, seriously, I want to know, since I never plan to install a different browser just to check that... and besides, I love just about everyting about Opera (at least after I configure it the way I like it), especially the mouse gestures. Yes, I have once upon a time tried the Firefox mouse gestures extension, a long long time ago, and it was positively horrible compared to the one in Opera.

Some forms still eat your input in Opera, but Eve-O doesn't, something changed about a year ago, wether it be the forums or the browser. But its nice not having to type it all out again. |

Edited by: pwnedgato on 22/04/2008 03:37:30 I actually took IE tab for FF and modified it to make the EvE-O forums open in an opera tab. ... Fine I have no clue how to do that. I just open opera whenever I feel like browsing the forums. |

Yea I'm using Flock 1.1.1, and that remembers posts when eve-o deletes it and you click back.

I go through a Squid Proxy between here and Eve forums, which makes my posting experience (tm) stinkier than a stinky thing. Might have to check out Opera.

Firefox remembers text entered into forms when going back a page. It's good enough for me. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

I use Opera because ... well, I've yet to come across any reason not to. I note most of the nicest features are now in Firefox too but that was inevitable.
I do like the back/forward mouse button combos also. Does FF have that yet? Hold rmb and click lmb to go back, hold lmb and click rmb to go forward. ---- Infiniband can do more than just prevent lag |

Firefox has a mouse gestures system that I much prefer to Opera's (Radial menus).
Hmm. For these forums I'm quite liking Safari because I find it much more readable. The fonts look much nicer somehow. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

I like mye custom mouse gestures in Opera:
right click + down = go back right click + up = stop right click + right = reopen last closed tab/webpage right click + up and right = switch focus to tab on right right click + up and left = switch focus to tab on left right click + down and right = close tab and switch to tab on right right click + down and left = close tab and switch to tab on left
Works nicely, and it can be done with the eyes closed in half a second or less.

Explorer sucks my two big round dangleys.
Firefox still eats my posts, but not as frequently as Explorer.
That being said I am not very computer savy, so I typically brush this off as user ignorance

Edited by: Kyrall on 22/04/2008 16:32:16 Firefox always remembers my eaten posts.
Also, to the guy that has a mouse gesture for back: thumb buttons dude, THUMB BUTTONS...
Edit, unless you mean at work because they force you to use an ancient mouse, probably with a ball. In which case carry on, that case is even more of a necessity than gestures are normally! |
