I am astonished that there are no indicators to show when extended down times are predicted to be over. I am also suprised at the regularity and sustained nature of lag, ctd drops, stuck-alts and unscheduled reboots. Might the devs/producers not be advised to total the number of annual dt hours lost to customers and refund our credit cards for the services not delivered? CCP doesnt want its users to end up feeling the way e&b players feel about EA.

Edited by: Vendora on 23/04/2004 13:45:22 Its the EnB players who are causing all the problems!!
Once the new disks are in place and settled things should get back to the way they were meant to be.
btw last time they upgraded the HW there was a serious overrun and they gave everyone a free day (if i remember correctly)

I understand that we all want to play, but technical issues are bound to happen. We all know that. Nothing in this world is perfect, especially when they are trying to manage a system as massive as this. I believe CCP is doing the best they can under unique circumstances.
Every MMORPG has these types of issues in one form of another... hell, any type of software does... We need to expect growing pains and take the good with the bad (within reason of course )
Just my humble opinion... ____________________________________

They see there is a hardware problem due to many new players and in a few days they already started to upgrade there hardware now tell me any other mmorpg that u see that. I played many and i didnt even see that once... Shows they care about there product something many companys can learn from.
Anyway u most likely will blame everything and everyone for things that aint there...
ps : i come from enb aswell....

Are you guys all dev alternates, showing this forum to your bosses to prove there is nothing wrong with eve...
Get a Grip!
Whatever Hardware Eve runs on might be ultimately superior to your overclocked AMD chips or Alienware systems, but there is a solution to this. MORE OF IT!
I own an ISP, a Server Farm and a VoIP company, if we had such uptime as eve we would not only loose our customers i would be sued to the ends of the earth.
I understand CCp is not a charity hence it has to make money, but it can go a very long way investing in ppl first. If the system is not running they will cancel subscriptions. (Like now).
I have been on eve for a month, i am not an E&B player, i also play Planetside which is way much more processor itnesive than eve and also has a lot more players, it works fine, no unscheduled DT, etc.
I like eve, the idea is great but i am about fed up with technical difficulties, and i believe CCp and the team managing it are not the right kind of ppl for it.

Yes the last couple of days have been frustrating. Yesterday we were fore warned that it was going to be down for a long time and those of us who remember the last time they did a similar thing it was down just as long and there was problems for a few days afterwards.
It is very hard for them to always say they will be extending dt as they cannot always foresee what technical difficulties they will run into.
All I can say is I have seen nothing but improvement from CCP. Prior to Castor patch, Eve was very unstable and CCPs communication was sketchy if not non existant at times, and I could understand people complaining. Compared to how Eve used to be CCP have come a long way.
All I can say is CCP keep up the good work.!!
