I have been wanting to host a LAN party for a while and I figured I might check to see if there is even any interest.
I live in Ontario, Ca, less than an hour from LA. I live in an apartment but if there is enough people who would go, I could rent a banquet hall at a local VFW. They also serve alcohol, so anyone over 21 can get hammered.
One thing that I am especially unsure about is what kind of internet connection we would need.
So the options are:
Have an EVE related LAN party.
Have just a regular LAN party where we just talk about EVE.
Just forget the gaming and just drink at the bar. (However, there will be drinking involved with any of the three as long as people are over 21)
(Also, am I crossing any nerd boundary by wanting to do this?)

I live in Corona, CA also less than an hour from LA. I would love to meet a couple of people in the area that play eve. I'm down with a eve related lan party or just a get together. I'll be keeping a eye on these post.

I'm down in SD but might convince myself to attend if only because my local gaming crew all seems to refer to EVE as the Spread Sheet MMO, based on reputation not experience though. <shrug>

I live down in SD and would like to come, but would like to know the time of this meet up and transportation (carpool, since gas is so expensive and it is a two hours drive) before making a decision to go or not. |

Rancho Cucamonga here. I would say that with the internet connection needed for more than few pc's, you might not be able to get that at the vfw but, hangin out at a bar with a bunch of other eve players sounds *****in. I could be available any evening. I've a couple of corpies in Burbank that could make it over as well. might want to check th LA area player gathering thread, seem to recall them getting together in July sometime. However I'm good with getting together anytime !!!

I'd love to have a get-together. Or better yet, figure out some way to get more of us California players flying together. My old corp was all in the U.K., so an 8 hour time difference made it hard to be active as much as I'd have liked to be.

Sounds like we kinda just need someone to step up and set a location/time and then see if it's good for everyone...

I am over in Diamond Bar, if we do a LAN party try Click and Connect in Upland off Foothill and Euclid, same center as the VONS (I think its a Vons anyways). If its Just drinks Paulies Pizza off Mountain just below the 10 FWY in Upland is a good place, Beer,Pool,pizza,enough room,loud music and its pretty cheap.

Good news and bad news.
I just moved to Fontana. Bad that it is farther from some people, good that it is a huge house that can accommodate more people. Also, at my old appartment we had a VFW in walking distance and because I am such an alcoholic my new house is still in walking distance to a VFW.
So we can go to the bar and walk back to my place and play games.
I just need to check with my roommates to see what will be a good day and make sure I can get chairs and tables. Also, if any one has chairs, tables, switches, please let me know so I don't have to buy this stuff. |

I'm interested although I don't really consider EVE a LAN-friendly game (compared to other games)- I would be more interested in just a regular LAN party (second option in the first post) or a bar meet or something.

I like the idea of Paulies. Good place. Short notice but does anyone want to get together friday evening after 5 pm there?

Paulies is good for me. perhaps for those of us that are close, this could work. just call it a get together planning meeting, over beer and pizza! I think we should certainly set a date for a future get together so that many of us socal players can plan on a day to be there but meh, im all over a few of us getting together tomorrow. :)

Diana, I can provide all the switches and network cables. We will still need to work out a place, date and specifics. I hope to meet with a few socal players tonight if all works out at Paulies in upland. For those of you that are interested in talking a little more in depth, please evemail me in game and we'll start a convo up about it. I'm usually on about 00:30 eve time (bout 5:30pm pacific)

I have'nt seen a post from Diana in a while in this thread, Diana, you still interested in helping to get this going so we can solidify some dates and times? For me, as always, I'm good for a beer or two anytime with any of ya'll even on short notice...
